We had a great time on this tour. Bob was very accommodating gearing his information and story telling towards our group, we were very diversified and he hit on everyone's interests. We enjoyed the chocolate bars and used several of the discounts he had for several of the local stores. His knowledge of Sitka and the area is amazing. You cannot go wrong! And of course the scenery is breathtaking!

It was a nice leisurely walking tour from town library, pass through fish hatchery on to free museum at other end of town. Good info and exposure to a variety of shops. Enjoyed a free Sitka chocolate candy bar treat mid-way. Bob was extremely knowledgeable and flexible for the pace of the group. We utilized some of the merchant discount coupons for good value items made in Sitka.

Be prepared to learn everything about Sitka and its history. We also learned a great deal about the local flora and fauna. Wear comfortable shoes and expect to smell and taste lots of local goods and shop. Bob knows it all.

Bob made the areas around "The largest city in the U.S." come to life with his in depth stories and descriptions of the historic characters who were the founders of "The Paris of the Northwest". We learned about the Tlinget peoples, and other Native groups, as well as meet some current residents with small businesses in the city; soap, chocolate and gin makers and were offered discounts if we purchased these items. The same discount as a "local". He is a former educator who has never lost the knack. This is a very personal tour. You won't feel like you are in the back of a crowd. I highly recommend this tour.

Bob's knowledge of Sika's history and culture as well as his familiarity with area animals and plant life and his interest in the local townspeople and their talents made this tour most enjoyable.
He took us to major historical points within the town, answered our questions about plants, animals, government, culture, schools, etc., and also stopped in at businesses with locally made products. This was just what we had hoped for; an authentic opportunity to learn about the town and surrounding area and meet some locals. Bob's knowledgeable talks along with his readiness to entertain our questions made us feel more like students that tourist. Recommended!
