Met family for breakfast here recently. Everyone enjoyed their food.
I had the Buddha Bowl with tofu. Very tasty!! Others had huevos rancheros, french toast, and a vegetarian breakfast with spinach and tofu.
good service, great choices.

Recently experienced the Flying Star Cafe on Menaul for the 1st time. We had not been to Albuquerque for a couple of years and in the past had loved the Flying Star on Silver Street. Much to our disappointment, it has now been closed. (In addition, we discovered that the Flying Star Cafe in Santa Fe had also closed.) The restaurant on Menaul has the same excellent food and the exceptionally friendly service. The waitpersons who bring the food to your table(after you ordering at the counter) seem to genuinely care that your food is prepared to your satisfaction. We love the variety of dishes on the menu and yes, it IS more expensive than Denny's but then locally owned establishments can't compete price wise with corporate chains. We miss the environment, the decor and the architecture from the Silver Street location and it's a shame that the owners felt they needed to close although the Menaul location makes a stab at replicating the same "feeling".

I went here after work for some breakfast/dinner, since I work third shift and had the lovely mac and cheese breakfast bowl. It tasted great plain but then I added some hot sauce and pepper to really kick it up a notch. I would recommend this if you're a fan of mac and cheese dishes!

This is a lovely branch of the Flying Star family of locations. It is always friendly, and has consciously sourced, higher quality food. Not cheap, but for the quality, it is a good deal. Comfortable seating, and enjoyable and relaxing environment...

A great spot with great food, service and atmosphere. The Fish Tacos with perfectly cooked cod, shredded carrots, cabbage and cauliflower (nice touch) were fantastic - one of the best fish tacos I have ever had - highly recommend !
