The food is really good. The atmosphere is nice especially in the summer. They have an outdoor seating area with a waterfall that is dog friendly. The pumpkin cheesecake is amazing!

There were so many pastireis it was hard to choice! But we did! We got the coated sugar cookie. A little sweet and a little tart. Next time I will get the carrot cake!! The Flying Club sandwich was good but sweet potato fries were amazing!! We sat outside next to the rock fire pit and it was very relaxing! Very enjoyable place for casual conversations.

Nice place for breakfast or lunch, never tried dinner. Food quality was very good and service was friendly and courteous. Good place for a working lunch with excellent WiFi. Also very good food selection with gluten free options.

We always have 8+ people for breakfast. I can't remember anyone not liking the food. We've been coming to Albuquerque since 1994 for fiesta, always eating @ the at Star at least two times.

This is a local chain of restaurants in and around Albuquerque that started out as a coffee shop and bakery on the UNM campus. Although the chain has had financial problems recently, the outlet on Paseo del Norte at Wyoming is very popular and always seems to be crowded. Flying Star specializes in light fare: sandwiches, soups, salads, and bakery items, but also has some main dishes and an extensive breakfast menu. There are some New Mexican dishes (breakfast burritos, enchiladas, etc) and vegetarian and gluten free options as well. This is a place where you stand in line to order and after paying they bring the food to your table; coffee and tea refills are serve yourself. They usually have a large and varied selection of pies, cakes and pastries to choose from. The sandwiches and hamburgers are good; try the Albuquerque turkey which is a turkey, green chile and cheese sandwich on toasted bread; very good. If you go during the breakfast or lunch rush, especially on a weekend, be prepared to stand in line for a while.
