not worth the price compared to others downtown

3.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Jan 16, 2025
Breakfast in not included even though it is one of the more expensive hotels in downtown. You can include breakfast but you must pay more for that. Parking is also not included for the price and parking is not cheap either! you can pay $20 for self parking or $40 for valet. Check in is at 4pm but checkout is at 11am please make that make sense, I should be able to check in at 12ish am (1hour for house keeping should be enough) wether availability permit it or not. My night stay was supposed to be $141 but with the breakfast included and parking it ended up being $250, unacceptable.

I stayed for one night - last night of a ski trip in Park City where I was flying out early the next day. It was great to be close to the airport. The parking is difficult - you have to use at least 2 different elevators and 3 if you don’t park on P1. If you park on P2 or lower, you have to walk through the parking lot to get to another elevator bank.

I was upgraded to a very nice suite. It was spacious and had a large conference table that seated 6 in a separate living room. The bathroom was nice with a double sink and the water pressure was very good. The only issue with the room was that the heat was set to 80 degrees and we had to turn on the AC to cool down the room. Also, someone mentioned robe and slippers but my room did not have these. Would have been nice.

I was only able to go to the club for breakfast (I arrived right at 6pm and missed the “snacks”. Breakfast had a nice selection including lox, potatoes, bacon and scrambled eggs. This is the first Hyatt property I’ve been to since Covid that had a lounge. Many did not reopen their lounges since. Therefore I had to go! My only disappointment was that the lounge is closed outside of the breakfast and “snack” hours.

I also felt the customer service at the front desk was a bit lacking. I had just come from a Marriott Vacation Club property at Park City and there they don’t let you leave the desk until you are certain you don’t have any questions. They offered me late check out when that isn’t even a thing at these properties. They also gave me a map for parking with very detailed instructions on how to find the closest parking to my room. However when I arrived at the Hyatt front desk, I was greeted with a “what do you need?” I needed keys and parking. I wasn’t greeted as a Globalist, I wasn’t asked how many keys I needed and I wasn’t told how to find the parking (I really had no idea where the visitor parking was). I wasn’t asked about late checkout either not that I needed it. It was just a very different vibe.

I would probbaly stay here again if I was in the area. The parking might make me try elsewhere though.

Great overall! Hotel is beautiful and updated, high end feel, with a reasonable price, updated rooms and bathrooms. Bed and linens very comfortable. The shower had great water pressure and hand-held option. Each floor has a water and ice dispenser. The food was great and lobby so pretty. Great location, close to walking to lots of restaurant and shops, good parking garage connected with in and our privileges. Staff was professional and kind. Will be back!

I stayed here for 4 nights for a work conference. The hotel and meeting spaces were absolutely beautiful. The views were amazing! The staff was friendly and helpful. My room was clean and modern. The robe and slippers were a nice touch! The restaurants and bar were a tad expensive but that's what I expect in downtown and at a high-end hotel. However, the food was fantastic and had many options! Would definitely stay here again!

On the third annual Daddy/Daughter ski trip. We decided to stay in SLC to help acclimate to the altitude. Hyatt Regency Downtown is an Excellent hotel with great staff. The hotel is easily accessible from the airport, conveniently located downtown SLC, and close to the slopes for skiing.
