This hotel is nice, but the food and beverages on site are on the verge of price gauging. The breakfast buffet is $29 and the selection is limited, and not very good. The food was not hot, the service was "meh" and I was very disappointed overall.
The food at Mar Mantuya was delicious, but the portions are tiny and the prices exorbitant. They charge for EVERYTHING. Want a little mint jelly with your bread? You pay $3-$4. We needed some extra butter for our room, and they charged us $5 for a little container.
The server was not friendly or welcoming, and overall, hard to enjoy a dinner when they nickle and dime you and don't make feel comfortable. The host "Captain" is not very professional or welcoming, and the servers don't seem to love their job...
The room was quiet and the pillows were comfortable, however, there bed is too soft and offers no support. Otherwise, it had everything you needed, including a micro, a hair dryer and ironing board/iron.
I had severely sprained my ankle and needed some extra time to check out. The evening before our checkout a female receptionist said they were 89% booked and couldn't help me. We called the next morning, and we were accommodated. It just felt we had been lied to the night prior and that was upsetting.
In my 4-day experience, the price I paid doesn't reflective the level of service and professionalism I had expected from this higher end facility. Save your money and stay somewhere else.
