Ok place in a good downtown SLC location

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Sep 18, 2024via mobile
Super convenient, a very good location allows you to access all the sites in downtown Salt Lake City, with an easy access to airport or leaving the city. Room was decent and breakfast was basic but ok.

Could not understand why they had to charge for parking. Lastly, noticing this in many recent Marriott brand stays, very little care for loyalty … guy who checked us in seemed to have a problem giving me a second bottle at water. Marriott will lose business customers if they continue like this.

This is a very nice hotel in a fantastic location. You can walk everywhere from here. Lots of great restaurants and shops nearby. The staff here is super friendly and very accommodating. Rooms are very clean and quiet, I would definitely recommend staying here.

The hotel room was nice but if you stay at the back of the hotel the bar beside the hotel will keep you awake until 3:30 in the morning. The walls and the windows were shaking. The Hotel knows there is an issue but they still book these rooms. They do leave ear plugs in the room and they think that is enough. I am a lifetime Gold Marriott member and I have stayed in hundreds of hotels. This stay was awful. Breakfast was also mediocre.

Room tip: Don’t stay in rooms on eastern wall of hotel.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your experience while staying with us. Your feedback is invaluable to us.

We do our best to maintain quiet hours inside our hotel for your comfort so we appreciate any and all feedback given so we can ensure a comfortable stay. We provide ear plugs for the comfort of guests who may have a snoring partner along or be a light sleeper and need that extra muffling to aid them in getting a restful night. Our associates did attempt to assist in moving you to a quieter room which you politely declined.

We apologize we were unable to quiet the exterior noise of the neighboring business.

This is the worst hotel I have ever been to. Too noisy and staff not friendly and not helpful. I was overcharged for their misunderstanding. I will never go to this hotel again. I complained about the noise during the 3 nights and no results. I also requested to adjust the charges, but with no luck.

Dear abdunaser2023,

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your experience while staying with us.
Providing the highest level of hospitality is our number one priority. We apologize that your Government rate was not what you expected. We did confirm upon check in that the rate booked was a government rate and that your ID qualified you for that rate and we are unable to adjust those rates as they are booked for specific room types.
We take noise complaints seriously however quiet hours begin at 10pm and our front desk agent who was there every night you were only noted one complaint from your room.
We hope your future travels keep you safe and again we appreciate you taking the time out of your day to rate our hotel based on your stay.

BED BUGS - BEWARE! We stayed two nights in early September 2023. The first morning when we woke up we discovered multiple bed bugs in our room. My wife took one bed bug on a piece of paper to the front desk. The desk clerk on duty stated, "I don't think that is a bed bug." My wife then showed him an internet picture of bed bugs and it was an EXACT MATCH. The clerk stated, "I really don't think that is a bed bug." Again, it was an exact match. My wife told him we could not stay in a room with bed bugs in it and asked for a new room. He gave her a new room key and we moved into it for our second and final night. We were charged in full for both nights, including the night we were in a room with bed bugs. I have no doubt based on the clerk's response that he did not notify anyone in management about the situation and the room was not professionally cleaned to address the bed bugs before being assigned to another quest. After our visit, I emailed the hotel manager and asked what was done to address the bed bug situation. I received a response email that did not address the bed bugs and what if anything was done, no offer of a refund (I did not ask for one) but extended me 10,000 Bonvoy points (which I have not received). The proper response by hotel management for a customer having bed bugs in their hotel room is to move the customer to a new room, comp their stay, and most importantly, immediately have the bed bug infected room professionally cleaned. The bed bugs were bad enough. The lack of response by the hotel staff was negligent. Will this review post get the canned apology response from the hotel, or that they do not "think" it was bed bugs, or a lie that the room has now been professionally cleaned? Stay at your own risk!

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns with us. We regret any inconvenience and discomfort you experienced during your visit with us. However, we would like to assure you that these were in fact not bed bugs, but elm beetles. This has been an ongoing issue state-wide that we have been treating and addressing both in the rooms and surrounding the property.

My stay at the hotel was okay. Convenient location, tidy hotel although the cleaning staff barged into my room twice without notice but s**t happens.
My issue is with the room rate! It continues to be advertised, even to this day, that you will receive 3000 bonus points per night for a slightly increased cost (advertised as a package deal for members) however the points are never awarded. This equates to theft. I had stayed for three nights and continue to monitor my account for the additional 9000 points. I'm still waiting. I've reached out to Marriott Bonvoy multiple times. A case was opened and I was awarded 3000 of the 9000 points owed to me. I've since e-mailed them asking for the additional 6000 points but now they fail to respond to my inquiries. Marriott Bonvoy appears to be stealing from people. They have definitely stolen from me. I'm grateful to have all of my screenshots as proof. Please take screenshots people. Beware Members! Check your accounts.

Room tip: Check your Marriott Bonvoy points upon return. Not only here but if you're ever offered increased points at an increased cost.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your experience while staying with us.

The additional points do take roughly 7 to 14 days to process as they are posted manually separately in batches. Without knowing which guest this review is from I'm not able to ascertain any details of your specific reservation, and to my knowledge nobody on my team has received emails about missing bonus points.

You can reach me at david.larsen@aimbridge.com, please send your stay information, and we'll get this resolved for you.

Providing the highest level of hospitality is our number one priority and I sincerely apologize for failing to meet your expectations. I have shared your feedback with our leadership team to ensure the necessary guidelines are in place and reviewed to prevent issues of this nature from occurring in the future.
