Owner description: Cannon Hall Farm is a large, family run farm attraction. Sitting in the rolling Pennine foothills, it's home to hundreds of animals, waiting to welcome you to a world of animal magic. Home to one of the biggest and best equipped playgrounds in the north of England and the largest tube maze in Europe our adventure playground is one of the biggest and best in the north of England. The farm shop is famous for home produced beef, pork, lamb and a huge variety of sausages. Our on site bakery produces award winning pies and delicious artisan bread every morning. The tearoom serves delicious home cooked food. New for 2015, The Hungry Llama indoor play and restaurant adds a great indoor option with some dramatic slides and innovative play features to a day that's already packed with fun. Winner of Best Tourism Experience at The White Rose Awards in 2011, Cannon Hall Farm was highly commended in the same category in the Visit England Awards 2012. .. but this place deserves it.
My children are all grown up, it's been about 12 years since my last visit, my wife and I 'borrowed' a 3 year old from a family friend on Monday and came here for the day out.
The farm was great attraction 12 years ago however in recent years a massive investment by the owners has been made and now this place, dare I say it's one of the best children's attractions in the country and worthy of a drive out.
Look at the website before you visit though and see if they have any reduced price vouchers.

Lovely day, beautiful weather, great experience for us all. The kid really enjoyed all the animals PLUS the indoor play area. All very well done. Not expensive either and plenty of nice food available and areas to sit. Highly recommended for a day out with a young family if you're in the area.

Had a brilliant day, lots to do and see, the childrens playgrounds are really good and you can tell they are well thought out. Reptile house, well you just have to visit it to see for yourself. A plus for our 2 year old was the trip around the farm with the tractor and trailer. Meerkats were just amazing. Lots of animals to see, just wish thee were more animals in the petting section but never mind that is only one little complaint :)All in all well worth the money except I do think that charging a child of 2 the same price as an adult is a little OTT. I could have spent a fortune in the farm shop as such a great varity of foods, even tasted a few gins! One thing that jumped out at me is the fact that all of the staff were so friendly and chatty, Cannon Hall Farm - your staff are a credit to you. Well done to all for providing us with an excellent day out, we will be back

We got in for £3 each which was a bargain considering the full price cost. We parked in the bottom car park and walked up as the walk is nice through the trees etc.
The new reptile house is great especially the leaf cutter ants which travel on ropes above your head.
The indoor play area was enjoyed by our kids and the coffee and cake was delicious.
The petting part was a little disappointing as there was just one rabbit and one guinea pig to stroke, all the rest of the animals on the farm are penned in.
The outdoor play area is fab, ours especially liked the big slides that take you from one playground to the other.
We had a fab day out

Lovely April visit just before the Easter break.
Plenty to do whilst there; farm animals, petting area, tractor train ride, mini kids maze, playgrounds for all ages, animal races & eateries.
Plenty of car parking which is a bonus.
Restaurant area we found quite expensive for what we had ordered, this being the only negative.
We did quickly visit the main manor house, which was free to look round and very informative. They do have a small children's playroom upstairs with historical toys and play things.
