This hotel was booked as part of our Camino journey and after a long hard day we were not impressed. Although the staff seemed very nice the rooms were more like a youth hostel and the food was very poor. Breakfast was inedible and the breakfast staff felt more like prison wardens. I would not recommend this accommodation.

I was travelling alone on the Camino and was booked into this place. I was expecting a three star hotel. Which this is not.I found the room is dark poor lighting. No AC of course no fridge or anything. And I had a strange bed arrangement see photo. If I wanted a summer camp lodge I would’ve asked for it. , The food was good and plentiful tho.

This place was great. Rooms were like going back to summer camp. Aired out our hiking boots on the window ledges, did laundry in the sink and dried on the bathroom heaters (that were on). Cozy and comfortable rooms with large bathrooms and "great" hot showers. Great deck for cocktails. Perfect after Day 3 on the Camino!! and Its right on the Camino.. BUT.. out of town. Depending on when you arrive, Palas de Rei is an interesting town with lots of shops, churches and things to do.

Room Tip: Try to stay in the outer "cabin" rooms and not the main building. Quieter!

Forever thankful to a lady staff who attended to us upon checking out on the early morning of Oct1,2017. Upon seeing my injured knees and knowing that all shops are still close by that time, gave me a pair of a walking pole. Sadly, I forgot to get her name. This will always be one of our fond memories of the Camino.

Check-in was quick and easy. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms are all wood and remind you of a cabin. Small but very comfortable and clean. Nice and quiet as there isn't much traffic going by..
One nice feature is they do have a washer and dryer there for the guests to use. $3.50 euros for the washer or dryer. A little pricey but a lot easier than doing laundry by hand.
The food in the restaurant was delicious and so much of it. Dinner and breakfast. The waiters were friendly and made sure you had whatever you needed.
If you are in Palas de Rei I would recommend staying at la Cabana.
