Pazo da Trave is a couple of kilometers south of Viveiro, up on a hill, with very rural surroundings. The GPS in our car could not find it, but Google maps did, thank God, because otherwise we would have searched for hours. It is run by a young, very friendly couple, offers spacious rooms (we had a suite with two bedrooms, the second one for our two sons aged 13 and 10), a delicious breakfast which is served at the table (no buffet), consisting of white bread with iberico ham, local cheese, local sausage, fruits, cake, orange juice and coffee and/or milk. For dinner, the restaurant offers two starters and main courses, a variety of desserts and various local wines to choose from. The hosts speak good English, which is quite rare in this part of Spain. The garden is a gem , with a small pool, which our kids adored. So the whole place could be a paradise, if it were not for the neighbours. In the two nights we stayed in Pazo da Trave, there was a wild party in the neighbourhood, lasting till the early hours of the morning, preventing you from sleeping with open windows. The room stayed quite hot with windows closed, so sleeping was difficult. A pity - otherwise, this place is wonderful! The landlady assured us it was only on few nights that this partying would go on, but we could not find out more.
