I selected this charming little hotel and booked two nights with my wife & 3 yrs old daughter.
When we arrived (the day of my wife's birthday), despite our booking made (& confirmed) via Expedia, there was no room for us. We were offered to spend one night here and to change for the second, which was not convenient with all luggages, etc. Still not sure why we had to find another solution and not the customers arriving the day after, Cristina suggested to go to a "very comparable" hotel just next door (hôtel la villa). Not sure if she lacks self esteem or if I was expecting too much, but this hotel is not charming at all: located next to a 'club' for gentlemen, it is an outdated (no wifi in my Room, decoration, empty mini bar in a fridge older than me,...), dirty hotel (dead flies on the sofa), no playground for kids, managed by a not very nice guy (as we lost more than an hour changing hotel and because the beach of cathédrales is only accessible 2 hrs à day according to Cristina, we wanted to buy sandwiches but even if they had bread and cheese/ham, refused to serve anything else than the dishes of the restaurant). All the romantisme i was looking for when i selected hotel mi norte to spend my wife les birthday was gone and replaced by stress & frustration. Last thing : Cristina suggested a nice restaurant for the evening (san miguel). Exhausted after à long walk and the emotions of this afternoon, and starving because we had no time to have a proper lunch (see above), we reached the restaurant à bit early (20h10) with the idea to have a drink inside (cold) if the kitchen was not yet open. They simply refused to let us in before 20h30...of course nothing to do with Cristina, but reinforcing the bad experience and bad impression about the local hospitality...

Dear Gregory,

We regret your frustration with your recent booking at our hotel. Unfortunately the problem was beyond our responsibilities as EXPEDIA already explained to you. Despite everything, we tried our very best to offer you our best services to compensate the mistake in the hotel booking.

For the first day we had rooms available. We offered you a superior room including breakfast at the same cost. Initially you accepted while waiting that on the next day a room might get free. We handed over maps and all relevant information of the region to make you familiar with the area.

You finally decided to not stay for this one night at our hotel since no room seem to be free on the next day. We therefore gave you some suggestions on similar hotels in the area. We found for you a hotel nearby which in fact was superior.

We showed you the hotel and we also offered you to keep looking but you decided to take the offer since you were in a rush. I spoke with the hotel to give you a discount of EUR 20 and to offer you breakfast for everybody for free (all costs at my charge).

We therefore feel very sad to see such feedback from you, even though, we tried our very best to find a comfortable solution for your stay.

We hope you still have enjoyed your vacation and we wish you and your family all the very best and thanks for your booking with us.

Sincerely,
Cristina Torviso

Charming themed hotel. We stayed in "El Amante ", a spacious nice and quiet room on the top floor. Very friendly staff and service. Close to the main attraction which is the "Playa de las Catedrales", a must see, spectacular beach.

The cinema-themed rooms are excellent with creative design and quality facilities, a real country house feel to the guests' lounge and friendly service from the owner and staff. Very welcoming atmosphere in the hotel. Stayed in the James Bond room on the road side and found no problems at all with road noise. Only a short drive to Playa de las Catedrales (Wow!) with tide tables available at the hotel or on its website to make sure you get there at low tide.

Room tip: Top floor has bigger, slightly more expensive rooms, book early for these. Did not find road noise a problem even in roadside room.

One of the most charming hotels I've seen so far! Next to the most amazing beaches and cliffs! Just 5min drive to the heart of Galician's cultural centers and nightlife! Wonderful and friendly people who are happy to make your trip memorable!

We stayed there twice last year 2014 and this year, each time a week.
It is a very cozy intimate little Hotel with very friendly staff, we enjoyed the breakfast very much.

The Owner Christina gave us nice tips for day trips and where we could grab some good food around.

Highly recommendable !!

Room tip: all rooms are quiet the same but "Africa memories" has a nice terrace !!
