This hotel was sold to us as if it was on the Camino route but after 8 hours walking we were surmised to find we had to walk another 2 miles or off the beaten track through various woodland and forest to find the hotel. Beautiful place if you want a relaxing retreat. We were lucky to get a lovely lady taxi driver both in and out of Palas De Rei for the evening as there was very little to do in the hotel. Unfortunately we were charged the same price of 8 euro to drive 8Km into the town as we were to go 3km the next morning to rejoin the camino.

Dear Eliane 5,

I appreciate the time dedicated to sharing their experience in our establishment with other social network users .. We are gratified that your stay with us has been satisfactory valuing the environment of our hotel-spa

To facilitate the stay among us pilgrims who are doing the Camino de Santiago through our area have a Pilgrim rate includes accommodation, breakfast, dinner and transfer Palas de Rei, and for all the customer who needs we have provided the Taxi service from Balneario Rio Pambre Palas, as well as from Balneario Rio Pambre Casanova to resume from there the road, just 2 km from the spa .800. We try to provide that information to all customers who make us direct booking by phone or mail, being more difficult to do so when booking through internet or agency, being informed it of such an eventuality.

Taxi service to our spa hotel is made from the taxi rank situated in the center of Pallas, as a result in transfers from the hotel to another location taxi service rate applies from departure, not from the hotel therefore those 8 km from Palas to Hotel Balneario IS 8 € AND SPA a Casanova 10 €.

We hope to count on your presence among us in future visits in the area

Kindest regards

All the hotels we stayed at during the Camino were a short distance off the beaten path. But this one is no where close and they don't tell you that when making your reservation. All the other places told us where to break and picked us up for free or paid the taxi service. They dont serve dinner till 8:30 and dont open for breakfast till 8AM.

We try to provide that information to all customers who make the reservation by phone, being more difficult to do so when booking via the Internet or agency.
Our restaurant opens at 20:30, before that time have cafeteria service with an extensive menu of rations. Breakfast opens at 8:00 AM, before that time have picnic service to carry, which taste prepare prior notice.

Spent a night here while on the Camino. Requires a taxi from town.

This is my second time staying here and we were in a twin in one of the Galician "huts" which was neat.

Very clean, comfortable beds, having a bathtub for a long hot soak was a wonderful treat! There is an onsite pool that's €15/pp and my friend used it. Only you can decide if it's worth it. Swimming caps required and available for purchase.

Restaurant is very good, haven't had a bad meal. Doesn't open until 8:30pm.

Breakfast is enough to get going in the morning.

If I do the Camino again, I'd look for somewhere in Palas de Rei, but if you're in a car or looking to treat yourself, this was nice. Especially the bathtub!

We booked this hotel for 1 night ( 2 double rooms) whilst doing El Camino de Santiago.
Hotel was okay if a bit dated.
Location is very good and tranquil and the service received was okay.
However, a word of warning!!
We had booked the hotel trough Booking.com and had a confirmation email from this site with total price to pay at the hotel.
When we checked out the lady in reception said price quoted by Booking was for 2 single rooms and therefore we had to pay more as we stayed in double rooms.
Our paperwork clearly stated that we had booked 2 doubles (there were 4 of us)
Despite the fact that we had our information correct , she would not back down.
The way I saw if she had any dispute this she should have taken it with Booking.com
Eventually we paid and left.
I think the hotel staff have no integrity whatsoever and as we were only staying there for one night and would not be likely to stay there again, they did what they did

Many thanks for your comments and immpresions about our establishment as they help us to improve.
When a reservation is made trought Booking.com the client has the option to book just one type of room which is a double room as we don't have any other type of room like triple, cuadruple or single.
The price of the room varies if it is occupied by one person or two and that is why when you made the booking it shows two icons, one of them is if you want to book the room for one person and the other is for two people.
You booked two bedrooms for one person each room as it shows on the voucher given to the hotel that Booking.com sent to you when you made the reservation. However, you were four people insted of two so that's why they were charged the difference in price between the room occupied by 2 people and occupied by one.

This hotel was arranged by the travel agent we used when we booked our Camino package. When we arrived in town we asked the clerk at the supermarket to call a taxi (which she gladly did). Taxi arrived within 5 minutes and drove us to the hotel. The hotel paid for the taxi, which was 7 Euros.

We were greeted and checked in to room 103 on the second floor, a double. Were a little surprised our bags weren't waiting for us in the room (they knew we were coming). There's an elevator if your legs are sore or can't walk stairs.

The room was large and had nice views over the grounds. Nice bed linens and towels. No washcloths or hair dryer in room. Amenities were liquid soap, nothing more.

Free parking and wifi. Pool. In-room safe. Interior corridors in the main building. No alarm clock. Four pillows on the bed. Luggage rack. Nice gift shop of local specialties like jams and soap.

As we had no car, we decided we would eat in the hotel's restaurant. It doesn't open until 8:30pm, which for hungry Camino walkers seemed like the middle of the night! They have a set menu with three courses plus beverage for 18 Euros which is the most expensive set menu we saw in all of Galicia. We decided to order off the menu and chose Pulpo with Shrimp (11,50 Euros) and shared a Veal Scallopini with tomatoes and fried potatoes for 9,50 Euros. Very satisfying pulpo. The veal was a little overcooked, but as I said we were quite hungry and it all tasted fantastic.

Breakfast in the morning was quite adequate for Camino walkers with coffee, juice, and much more-see photos.

In the morning we were given the option of a paid taxi back to Palas de Rei or walking 3km north from the hotel to rejoin the Camino. Nice to know it is so close.

If walking the Camino this is a nice option away from town out in the Galician countryside. We enjoyed our large, comfortable room in the main building. I would stay here again because it really was a nice place to stay. The set menu is a bit overpriced, but everyone else on the menu seems reasonable.
