Overall this hotel is dated and shabby. Some of the rooms have been updated but unfortunately ours wasn't one of them. Our room was dated, dusty, peeling paint and threadbare towels. Lady at reception was rude and left a bad first impression of the hotel from the moment we set foot in it. Breakfast was one of the worst I've experienced in any hotel. Very little fruit, no fresh orange juice, choice of two cheap cereals and the cooked food wasn't up to much. The restaurant was nice for lunch and pizza was very good. Staff in the restaurant were lovely. We didn't use the pool area but it looked ok.
Good location in St Paul's.

This Holiday was booked via TUI Holidays staying at The Gillieru Hotel, St Pauls Bay, Malta for 6Days from the 25th Aug 2024.

The Location was perfect in Malta the Hotel was very average and is in need of a refurbishment and major attention to the room facilities.
Our Bathroom Towels were awful falling apart as u will see in attached photos. Some of the bathroom attachments were coming unscrewed and falling off the wall. Bedding had bad stains on some of the sheets.
The corridors near the lifts had water on the floors as people were walking to there rooms with wet swimwear making the floors very slippery including inside the lifts.
But the biggest disappointment was - no mention on any web sites or booking that there was Major building work in front of the Hotel and the Sea view from our balcony - off shore 70 yrds Building a new boat marina, constant very loud noise all day from sunrise to sunset. Digging and drilling machines.
And a very large crane.
If we had known about this we would not have booked this hotel. I was not Impressed.
Do not book this hotel until all Building work is completed.
See attached photos.
Steve & Julie UK.

Room tip: Do Not book this Hotel until all Building work around the place is completed.

What a lovely place to stay, a lovely clean hotel, with the charm of a family run business and the Maltese magic we love so much. Perfectly positioned in St Paul's bay with spectacular views from our balcony. Our room was comfy and cleaned ever day, large comfy bed and super bathroom with a fantastic walk in shower. The weather was very hot in the mid thirties so it was great to be able to retire to the shade and cool if the air-con in our room. Another nice touch was the chilled and filtered was dispensers on the landing, so we always had a cool drink. Breakfasts were great with a wide selection to choose from. The cafe bar was also good too for lunches and drinks. All round a great place to see, we will definitely be going back very soon. Highly recommended.

Room tip: Book a table in the restaurant early in your stay. Pay the supplement and choose a sea view room on the 3rd or 4th floor.

Stayed at this hotel for a week and was pleasantly surprised. The room was basic but clean and all I needed for my stay. The staff were lovely, especially Ariana who was very helpful. The pool is small but ample and spent many an afternoon chilling there. Breakfast was good and there's a lovely restaurant where I had the best fish dinner.

The location is ideal with great views of the harbour abd only a 5-10 minute walk from the main strip of the bay. Also very close to bus stops where uiu can catch a bus to any part of the island.
