We came to Vegas for a family vacation and decided to make the drive out to Hoover Dam. I am so glad we did as it was truly a once in a lifetime experience that you need to have! The view is amazing and although crowded still plenty of room. The Construction is amazing and is inspiring to see how it has lasted. If you are afraid of heights I would recommend being careful when looking down cause it is a massive drop. Parking was not much of an issue as long as you pay the 10$, if you want to try your luck you can try to go across the dam into Arizona and parking is free but we did not have any luck as people were sitting waiting for people to leave. The café there is great as well and not to pricey so be sure to grab lunch and take pictures. The only downside was the elevators were down so we were unable to actually go inside the dam. Hopefully if we ever make it back out there we can do that!

We visited on a weekend, the place was heaving, and we struggled to find a parking space close to the dam, ended up on the hill behind, so a bit of a walk. Great feat of engineering and worth the visit, we did want to do the inside tour, however thought the price of $30 each was a little steep. Worth a visit but perhaps better on a week day.

Went there on a weekday and the line for parking was so long at least 45 minutes wait. I’ve heard weekend is much longer. It’s $10 per car. There’s a souvenir shop, food court, underground tunnel. Once you arrive the first thing you see is the dam and that is an amazing view and it’s Super steep. There’s also a BIG beautiful bridge that goes across the river. Walking to the dam there’s many history you can visit and read about as you approach the dam. Once at the dam there’s a state line that indicate you Nevada and Arizona. The view is just amazing. Great for pictures. If you keep going you’ll reach a state park in Arizona. There’s also a lake with great view before arriving at the dam in Nevada. It’s great for kids, family, friends, couple, etc.. Go check it out well worth it

Go early! There is not much parking and you will waste a lot of time looking for a spot unless you arrive early. We got there around 10 and still had trouble finding a spot. The full tour was booked until mid afternoon so we did the power plant tour. Very worth it! You will not be disappointed!

We did the full tour with our 10 and 12 year old girls. I was worried they would get bored, but after 4 hours we had to pry them away so we could go grab some lunch. Going down in all the crazy elevators and walking out into the tunnel to peek through the vent in the middle of the dam were worth it. The guides were super knowledgeable, funny and easy going. We were glad we arrived 30 minutes before they opened because the line to get tickets was already long and we had a 2 hour wait before our tour started by the time we got our tickets.
