Try to avoid at any cost! No direct transfer to gilli air, as promised! NOT SAFE at all!VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!! Don’t use when you need to be on time!! Dont support this company!!!!!

This is our story, hope you can learn from our mistake of travelling with Wahana Gili Ocean!!

We used Wahana Transport from Badang Bai to Gili Air (Boat trip at 13.00 pm) with an intermeadiate stop at Gili Trawangan. We purchased our tickets online and used their included transfer from Ubud ( Coco Market-near monkey forest) to the port. Although the pickup time was at 10am, the pickup van was 40minutes late!!The transport to pandang bay took us 1h20min. Everything was fine (except the long wait for the pickup) until we finally arrived at the port destination. Then the nightmare started! Arriving at the port the chaos started. We were guided into a local restaurant, with the checkin desk being at the very end of the restaurant. We had to stand in line through the entire restaurant, where people were eating and having drinks! No real information was given - neither on the boat arrival, departure or any other kind of helpful information. Just „wait here“! Everybody was just standing cluelessly around, hoping for any kind of information! We were thus forced to sit in the restaurant, but eventually had to leave because the seating was reserved for customers only! They forced you to consume something! We had to wait outside in the blazing sun. After 1h waiting in the heat - already past departure time-someone just screamed boarding, when everybody started to grab their luggage and walked to the pier. Total chaos! People gathered in the heat at the pier with no clue where to go and when to board the boat! Total chaos since there were passengers with different company tickets! The boat finally left 2h late from the expected destination time!!! The boat had no AC as promised from the company! Only two ventilators at the front! Suffering from the heat in the middle/end of the boat!! The seating was terrible- no space, unpleasant heat! Arriving at the first intermediate stop - Gili Trawangan- we were informed by the crew that the boat won’t stop at the promised destination at gili air.!! The boat instead went to Lombok, where a substitue boat transport was promised. Again no further information was given by the crew. They just walked away, when trying to get further information and when people started to complain! Totally unprofessional! At Gili Trawangan further passengers on the way to Bali boarded the boat- there were not enough seats for all passengers. People were standing at the back of the boat!! Absolutely not safe!!! At Lombok we had to carry our luggage across the shore to a small boat, which finally brought us to gilli air!

The entire trip took us an entire day-9h!!!! This was absolutely one of the worst trips ever and we would certainly NOT recommend this company at all!Totally unsafe and unprofessional!

Our hotel in Ubud- offered to book our transfer to Gili for us, we were happy to accept the help as we were unsure of all the different street stalls offering tickets and presumed we would be ripped off.

Unfortunately the company our hotel went with was this one. On collection we paid and got our ticket which was fine but the 2 hour bus to the port had no working air conditioning so it was the most uncomfortable journey ever! When we arrived at the port we were dropped off at a coffee shop- go upstairs to get your sticker and then we had to wait on the side of the road. Our boat was supposed to depart at 1.30. The port was absolutely packed with people. Everyone on top of each other pushing etc. No announcements were being made to explain the delay in the boat. Finally after two hours standing, our boat arrived late at 3.30. The boat was supposed to go straight to Gili T but for some reason all of us had to get off the boat in Lombok and then get another 30 min wooden boat to Gili T. Some people were saying the reason for the change was because there was a problem with the engine but I don’t know if this was true?

The return journey wasn’t any better. Once again the boat was two hours late. We were told in the office that the driver would bring us to our accommodation on the other side. The driver to Seminyak ignored almost every red light and was on his phone for most of the journey. We were sat in the front- only one seatbelt working, which was quite scary at the speed he was going. When we got to seminyak he dropped all of us in the one spot and said he wasn’t supposed to bring us to our accommodation.

Would not recommend this company at all!

Like many before we got sucked into using this company. It all starts well with free pick up but then its a long 1 hour ++ drive To the departure place. We waited a while before boat came then 2 men grabbed our luggage and wheeled it the 50 mtrs to the pier. Then wanted to be paid 50,000 each. Ride over was ok but sitting inside you cant even see out the windows. Crammed in with 2 fans to try and keep you cool. The TYE the 2 front doors shut. NOT SAFE! Coming back was a nightmare. Over an hour late the went on to Gili Air and Lombok before Bali. We allowed 4 hours to get to the airport. By the time we got back to port we were so late we had to then get ripped off 500,000 to get to the airport in time. Never again The price is not worth it.

The hotel we are staying at in Bali, offered to arrange trips for us and I thought using the hotel would be better and safer option than using the agents you see up and down the streets. Well I was wrong, it started off bad and got worse from there.
The hotel booked and said it would be 900,000 each return which I could pay by card or cash at the harbour Padang bay to Gili T with pick up and return to seminyak

Pick up was 6-6.30 for the 9am boat, we weren’t picked up till 7.15 and the shuttle driver demanded the cash there and then, which we argued with the hotel reception, as I thought this was iffy as we had no tickets yet but eventually we agreed as we already paid for our hotel in Gili T so didn’t have much choice.

The shuttle driver didn’t communicate well picking people up from other cars at the side of the road and no one knew what was happening finally got the the harbour still no tickets different people pointed in different directions and we were left with what looked like a teenager who spoke no English apart from wait. After 15 mins waiting in the red hot sun we waved us to follow him and he took us to this cafe where in the back you get the tickets. The return wasn’t booked for the day we asked and told we had to sort this when we got to Gili it weren’t guaranteed the return we want.

I told go on for ages, but the rest of it can be summed up as the boat will be late, there’s no a/c, no one tells you anything.

And the shuttle back you will be pointed everywhere in the car park until one of the drivers decides your on his bus or car and then they ask where it is and they will not know where the hotel is and try and kick you out someone near and make you walk.

Absolutely shocking service! Pick up from our hotel in Ubud was fine! We got dropped of infront of the restaurant where you need to check in which very crowded trying to pass ppl having a lunch as the office table is at the back of the restaurant. That’s your only place to hide away from the sun at this point. Than they take you to overcrowded harbour waiting area. The boat was late an hour and half! Journey over to Gili was ok untill we’ve been told they will drop us off at Lombok completely skipping the Gili Air. After our arrival they sent you to a local boat to take you across which wouldn’t be an issue if they helped ppl with their cases. If you have a big suitcase you will end up dragging it on the beach without any help! We have arrived to Gili Air 2 and half hours later which is a big deal if you are staying only for few nights.
Exactly same happened on the return leaving 2hours late via small boat to Lombok!
Horrendous service!
