Undoubtedly the best fare in Amed. Tricky to access down a sometimes slippery steep road, but worth it. Outstanding food, great service, beaut views, well trained staff. A great dining experience. Portions could be a little bigger, but that’s being you-know-what. Service 5 star, Food 5, Value 4. Don’t miss it, highly recommended.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for all your compliments and your 5-star rating. To serve also the guests who like extra big portions we mention the following on top of our menu.
"The gorgeous view and the breeze from the ocean may whet your appetite.
Therefore, it will be a pleasure to offer you a complementary second helping of the main course."

Maybe this text is to poetic. We will state more clearly: You can order extra for free.
A unique service, I think, which will even make the big eaters happy.
Thank you again for your review.
Derk Izaks

Short notice I asked via email if it was possible to have a romantic dinner for me and my boyfriend the next day where we would like to eat the praised duck. The staff prepared a table right at the sea on the veranda which has glass fencing and lights underneath so that sitting there with candlelight listening to the waves makes it a uniquely romantic experience. The food was delicious (solid cooking with bold flavours) and the staff very attentive. Would love to explore the estate some other time when we come back. Thanks again for this fantastic experience!

Thank you for your poetic words. Your description of the romantic table is excellent, its indeed a very special table, nearly above the sea at some distance of the villa and restaurant, which means some running up and down for the team. But they do it with pleasure, seeing that the guests have a very special evening.
Yes, the duck, praised indeed. As a consequence this are hard times for the duck. But the positive side is that they live at least 2 years in paradise: our garden. Like the guests, the staff and the owner they have a good life in Bukit Segara: private pool, sea view, excellent rooms for the night (protected against luwaks- you know the ones of the coffee), delicious food, most from own garden.Thats another life than living under bad conditions in the bio industry, isn't it?
Before we asked the guests to order the duck in advance - the slow grilling takes 3 hours- but now we prepare one in advance, knowing that some guest will order it. And if not…I am also fond of duck!
Cheers!
Derk

My partner and I recently stayed at the adjoining Villas for 3 nights and ate in the restaurant at least daily if not more than once :) As you make your way along the driveway through the beautiful garden where great care is taken to grow fresh produce (they even have their own bee hives) you get the idea that this is a special place. The view as you enter the restaurant is something else and you can feel yourself relax as you are welcomed to take in the sound of the ocean in front of you. Helpful and friendly staff for whom nothing is too much trouble. Even if you are not staying at the Villas, it is a great place to come for a peaceful meal in an outstanding location with beautiful staff. You will probably want to come and stay the next time

After reading the reviews on trip advisor we decided to drive Hour to get to this restaurant due to weather been raining all day .
Well we were disappointed the location and view were spectacular but the food was a real let down, you are situated in the middle of a fishing village and the first thing you read on the menu Jumbo Prawns House specialty’s ,all excited we order that unavailable so we ordered the fresh fruit prawn cocktail small balls of fruit with three fried dried prawns on top followed by calamari once you got through the over cooked batter that was so thick I couldn’t taste the calamari.
It was a real shame maybe the kitchen was having a bad day due to it being quite

We were staying at the Griya hotel across the road and checked on trip advisor for good restaurants near by.
We visited a quiet weekday evening. We were the only people there. Although it was dark the setting was great, I imagine you get a great view out to sea in the day!
I had the tomato soup for starters and then the chicken curry for main. Both were so tasty and really fresh, much better than the food at our hotel.
Would definitely recommend visiting here lovely people and great food! Thank you
