This is one of the best Trecking spot I have seen in my Journey. We friends started from Mumbai and Reached to Pavana lake resort on Weekend and took rest for the day. Saturday Morning we had breakfast at Resort and started Journey towards Tikona. IT is approx. 10 Km from Pavana Lake other side.

We started trecking from Base @ 10:00 am and reached top by 11:30 and had darshan of Shiv Ji in top hill temple. Returned to Base after 15 min time spend on top of the hill and reached down by 01:00 pm.
Best part of this trek is
1. Each and every spot there are sign Boards and history details. See attached photos for the same.
2. There is one feedback book kept with Hill Temple Person and they are asking to give fare feedback. I have never seen such feed back at any other trecking spots.
3. Very good bird view of Pavana Lake from top of the hill.

Being Short and easy trek place it is better for beginners.

We group of 10 frnds visited tikona on 23june 18 . From Thane tried to get intercity of 7.15am, but alas couldn't board d train due to heavy rush. Luckily one of our member was working in train section only and through him came 2 know other train some vijaylakshmi train will halt lonavla. Got that train around 7.33. Reach lonavla and from there book car for return journey also costing 2500 /-(250rs per head). Distance is quite far from lonavla, takes 1hr by car.

About Fort - yes quite easy one, thought 3500ft height means a high endurance reqd, but no half distance is covered by car only and base of tikona to tikona Fort is easy, started at 11.30am - completed by 1.30pm including photography. Top has some steps which has lot of gaps. So b very careful. It was rainy day, so slippery for us,njyd.had food at top with monkeys accompanying us . if u have time same path goes to tung Fort and caves, can visit there 2.. Also we got time to visit pawna dam. Spend considerable time there having fun.

Hanuman mandir, round wheeler, and top shiv mandir etc are few places to be visited

Best time to visit during rain. Top view is mind blowing. U cud see wind and rain mixture in front of u passing thru and chilling cold soothes ur body and refreshes mind.

All in all good one day trek.

We trekked & visited To Tikona Fort at the mountain peak during mid June. The lush green colour of the grass and leaves of trees started spreading. Cool breeze with a little rainfall made the journey memorable. The peak view was absolutely outstanding. Beginners should be cautious as the trek route gets slippery after rain.

I was looking for a trek for beginners, before I took on bigger challenges. Tikona fits the bill. I travelled to the place from Pune with a little group, including a 10 year old. We started from the city around 7 and reached the base within 1.5hrs including few stoppages en-route. The trek was an easy one, can be done easily in an hour.

The route is nice and offers breath-taking views of the valley, including Tunga fort, Pawana lake and more, multiple times during the ascent. Sure places turns to a heaven during monsoon, at the same increased challenge as the trail had loose soil in many places. Towards the end, its a steep climb on the steps, which are worn out in many places and not too wide.

However, the Satvahana caves, the water tanks, temples and eventually the summit are all worth the effort. Go for it!!!
