A trip to the Boardwalk on Coney Island is a must for any tourist visiting New York City. Our first view after exiting our train was the defunct Parachute Drop tower. However, we were more interested in The Cyclone, one of the last wooden roller coasters in America and possibly the most famous. After enjoying this Luna Park historic ride, we ventured along the boardwalk to search out Nathan’s Famous, which is still famous for Joey Chestnut’s antics every July 4th downing copious quantities of hotdogs, bun and all. We enjoyed our Kosher style beef “dogs” with all the fixings including mustard, relish, sour kraut. Others in our party had them with ketchup (What a travesty!) but, what do they know. The hotdogs were great but I enjoyed the crinkle cut French Fries even more, served in a cardboard dish with wooden picks. They were so good that I went back for a second order. It was a fun afternoon. Too bad we didn’t bring bathing suits as the water looked inviting.
