Owner description: Devoted to the art of today, the contemporary Jepson Center links Telfair’s future with its past, unifying the museum’s three distinct sites. The building, designed by Moshe Safdie and opened to the public in 2006, features over 7,500 square feet of gallery space for major traveling exhibitions of contemporary art and installations of works from the permanent collection. Educational programming takes place in the 220-seat auditorium, community gallery, education studios, and ArtZeum—a unique, 3,500-square foot interactive gallery for children and families.

I really enjoyed the architecture of this modern building. The ticket for entrance was purchased in a 3-pack with the other Telfair Museums. Enjoyed seeing the Bird Girl statue that used to be in the cemetery. Art exhibits rotate in and out so the you can return to see different things than you saw before. This museum is spacious, clean, and quiet. The children's area is wonderful.

We ended out Telfair experience with the Jepson Center. The building is of contemporary design with a vast staircase that dominates the entry hall. Exhibitions range from modern photography to contemporary video installations and sculptures, to an Impressionists' overview. It was exciting to see the Bird Girl statue made famous by Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, though where it's situated (right in front of a window that overlooks a parking garage) makes it difficult to photograph.

I left this Museum feeling underwhelmed. It was clean and modern, I was quiet excited to see the Bird Girl Statue, and there were some cool virtual reality exhibits, but there was little else to hold my interest and we were in and out in less than 30 minutes. I think I was just expecting more exhibits and more entertainment for the cost of admission. The entire City of Savannah is like walking around in a museum with the beautiful architecture and monuments, so it may have caused me to have unrealistic expectations for the Telfair Museum.

We are sorry you didn't enjoy your visit, but we hope you were able to spend some time in our Monet to Matisse exhibition, featuring works from some of the best-known artists of all time! And, admission also includes a visit to the Telfair Academy and the Owens-Thomas House & Slave Quarters, so there really is something for everyone!

This Art Center is a beautiful building appointed with every kind of art imaginable. We loved the Monet to Matisse exhibit & were able to discover some artists we did not previously know.

We visited the Jepson Center and went on the Monet + Matisse tour. We really enjoyed being in Savannah for the day and having the opportunity to see such great works of art. The tour was fantastic - lots of great history with a few juicy bits of information about the painters. We also enjoyed the background information about Paris at the time. The docent who ran the tour was fantastic as well.
