Owner description: Devoted to the art of today, the contemporary Jepson Center links Telfair’s future with its past, unifying the museum’s three distinct sites. The building, designed by Moshe Safdie and opened to the public in 2006, features over 7,500 square feet of gallery space for major traveling exhibitions of contemporary art and installations of works from the permanent collection. Educational programming takes place in the 220-seat auditorium, community gallery, education studios, and ArtZeum—a unique, 3,500-square foot interactive gallery for children and families.

We wanted to see the bird girl, which was our reason for buying tickets to the Telfair Museums. The displays at the Jepson Center were awesome. But we were especially enthralled by the bird girl....several years ago, we bought a replica at the Book Gift Shop (now closed) and we have it prominently displayed in our yard. To see the original "up close and personal" was a thrill of a lifetime. The entire Jepson is worth a visit. We will surely go back again....and again.

Love to see what the artist of today have to say. Great experience. When combined with the other two museums it gives a good history of the art and people of Savannah.

Was a nice way to spend a rainy day. Exhibits are varied and well staged. Because I had just visited the Bonaventure Cemetery, I enjoyed spending a lot of time with those displays. The Bird Girl Statue was also a "must" photo for me. I would go back again.

Clearly not your grandparents' art museum (if you want that experience go to the one across the street...which is nice too). My kids loved this place. A lot of hands-on VR art as well as an art and crafts room where we were able to show off our talents too. I think the reviews on this site don't do this place justice. While I would rather be outside and enjoying beautiful Savannah, on a rainy day this place was perfect! Very cool.

I think my favorite part was on the 2nd floor where they had this huge 3D art piece you can walk around and through. Depending on where you stopped and looked and how the light was, you got a totally new piece of art to enjoy.

A very unique experience!

Bought the ticket to visit the Telfair Museums and Jepson Center. Thought that the guided tour of the Owens Thomas House was a (5), the Telfair Museum a (4) and the Jepson Center a (3). All were unique and worth visiting. We thought the art works at Telfair we’re much better than what we expected. Spent a hour going through the various rooms. Loved the Owens Thomas House tour which I reviewed separately. The Jepson Center was interesting and had some interactive exhibits that would have been nice to explore but were occupied by children who were having a great time with them. A lot of creative arts are taking place in Savannah which is especially appealing to to the younger generations. Nice to get them involved in art. Thought our tour of all three museums gave us a great perspective of what is happening and has happened in the South.
