I booked this hotel in late January for a 5 night stay March 22. After reading numerous reviews, I called the hotel directly for information regarding their renovations. I was assured that all interior renovations would be complete by March 1. After reading more (very recent) reviews that indicated the renovations were not complete, I called again. I was told that all renovations would be fine by March 15. Now we arrive on March 22 to a lobby under MAJOR construction with workers painting, sawhorses etc. I asked to use the "Business Center" computer and printer and was told it is "under construction." No computers or printers available. The pool is emptied too. I was assured our room was "completely redone." Does this look new?

We stayed One Night in this hotel and from the outside it is absolutely beautiful and on the inside it is as well. This is probably the most luxurious Hotel I've ever stayed at for the price of a one-star Hotel. The bed is a Sleep Number bed which we were under the impression didn't work so for about 6 hours we slept on a hard bed until calling the front desk and finding out how to work the Sleep Number adjustment. After that the bed was amazing. The breakfast in the morning was the best breakfast I've ever seen at a hotel.

The only small downfall was upon arrival we found out there was no air conditioning in the entire building. That wasn't too big of a problem because it happened to be 40 degrees outside but it still got warm in the middle of the night in our room. Besides this issue with the bed and the air conditioning our visit to this hotel was amazing.

Also if you're in this area and are looking for some really good seafood or crawfish go check out Boiling Crawfish in the Jacksonville area. Honestly, the only reason we even stayed in this hotel or was in Jacksonville at all was because of Boiling Crawfish.

we book this hotel for seven nights but two were too much.We actually do not know the real name of this hotel is Icon or Red lion or Radisson blue..Front desk was helpful and kind.Breakfast was bad no bread you need to ask, black curtain divides the breakfast area from the kitchen!!!!!!. It was not healthy to accommodate people. It was not renovation .it was a full rebuild. The lobby with no flooring .front desk staff wears mask. even our room was ready but the carpet is full of dust and construction small pieces.workers all around all the time you cough and sneeze .you wait for the left for a long time.Suddenly workers get out with old carpet, foam....... etc.renovation is good but in this hotel it is different

Room Tip: first, make sure renovations finish

We stayed here for 2 nights.
The first connecting rooms we were placed in, one room was flooded from a broken pipe in the bathroom. The rooms however were not ready for guests, as construction tools were left on bed and nails were all over the floor.
We were moved down the hall to 2 newly (partially)renovated connecting rooms.
The rooms will be nice once completed. But the neither sets of rooms were totally ready for guests. Construction dust was everywhere. Construction debris on the sink and bathtubs. Tools, holes in the walls, wall shelvng thrown on the bathroom counter with nails on floor and dresser. (Note—WEAR SHOES)
The first night, we had no hot water. They were able to fix that issue upon return to room for 2nd night.
All of these issues denote poor management. If you are going to place guests in a room, the actual room should not be a construction zone. It’s unsafe. Nails and other hardware stepped on can be dangerous.
I am understanding of “pardon our dust” BUT THE DUST, TOOLS and CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS SHOULD NOT BE IN A GUEST ROOM UPON CHECK IN. IT SHOULD NOT BE ON THE BED OR IN THE SINK AND SHOWER.

The only saving grace was the staff. Each staff member was kind and willing to help with what little power they had. The staff was personable and helpful. I hope the actual building renovations catches up, it’s a shame that such a great staff must work under such conditions.

We had no heat in the room, no hot water and we got stuck on the 5th floor when we were trying to get to our new room on the 2nd floor because the elevator shut and wouldn't go down. The front desk person had to come get us in the other elevator. The 2nd room had heat but still no hot water. When I tried to resolve this the next day I was told the managers don't work on the weekends. It was Friday afternoon. That's not the weekend. I have made several attempts to contact management with no luck. According to the front desk the managers come and go as they please with no set schedule. Must be nice... So PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE!!! If you choose to ignore this and end booking anyways you should no that it isn't called
Icon anymore it's called Red Lion or something like that.
