Riverside/Avondale Historic District
Ranked #6 of 194 things to do in Jacksonville
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 5 weeks ago via mobile

Visiting this neighbourhood is the number 7 ranked thing to do in Jacksonville? It is a fairly nice neighbourhood, but I cannot see how this counts as an activity. Nothing special here other than a couple of restaurants, ice cream shops and a couple of very ordinary suburban parks.

It was very much one of the scenic parks there. A very very relaxing place to go sit at & enjoy nature at its finest!!! Has a big fountain near the water & the breeze from it makes it even more pleasurable & not hot! Lol

I enjoyed a day tooling around the Riverside historic area. Got my hair cut at Hair Peace, searching for treasures at Southern Crossings Antiques Mall and lunch at Hawkers. Grab your best friend and spend a low-key day in this charming historic area.

The area is beautiful with turn of the century home which are well preserved and each so different. I never tire of walking through. I see something new each time.

Several places to visit. Five Points with several good restaurants, The Derby and others. Several unique shops, fun and reasonable.
Nearby is the Avondale shops and restaurants.
