We stayed here for the weekend. It is only a small area and the Memorial Park only takes minutes to walk around. The side streets contain beautique shops and grand Victorian house. A great place to stroll around for a couple of hours.

Wonderful neighborhood to drive through or walk around. Victorian homes, well kept neighborhoods, along the river.

We were so stoked to go and see The Lion King at the Times-Union center and the opportunity to stay in Riverside at a quaint air bnb cottage only extended our experience. Everything in riverside/avondale is in walking distance with so many thing to do. From the wonderful restaurants, the parks along the St. Johns River, the Riverside Arts and farmers market (a must), Cummer museum...It is all there for you. Riverside is an eclectic area that ranges from funky young people, yuppies, old hippies, wealthy senior citizens, and everyone in between. Spend the whole time there or catch a short cheap uber ride to catch an event downtown. Will be back again.

Had a terrific lunch. Visited local antique shops. Enjoyed seeing the old homes and neighborhoods.
Wish we had a little more time to do some exploring.

We.stopped briefly for lunch and to visit some of the shops. Based on earlier reviews, our expectations were fairly high. We were disappointed. The "Five Corners" area we visited was a bit of a dive, with limited dining and shopping.
