I went there for a 4 night stay, there was a problem with the charge on my card since it is from another country and instead of understanding and trying to help they brought security to the lobby while I was on the phone. This is a horrible way of fixing a misunderstanding, mainly by front desk Simeone. Usually you don't get treated as a criminal beforehand.

Obviously when everything got fixed I checked out and went to the Hilton Garden Inn Central Park which is a couple of blocks away and like 20 USD more expensive but with a much better service.

If you insist on staying here you need to pack your things and bring a whole lot of patience.

Room tip: Ask for a room where you can use the tv and the air conditioning.

Reserved room months ago on recommendation of friend who had stayed there. Reserved directly with hotel with AAA discount for a double room. Had some misgivings after reading reviews, but could not be happier. Was upgraded to more spacious room, housekeeping was fine, no hot/cold water issues, plenty of towels. Great location with subway outside the door and other lines a couple of blocks away. Easy walk to 5th Ave, Rockefeller Plaza, Radio City Music Hall, Times Square, and Central Park. Delis and Starbucks are across the street. Free internet for 2 devices came with booking directly and it worked fine. Could hear street noise, but this is NYC! Was with 2 first-timers to NYC and their experience was great---thanks to the Wellington.

Raise your hand if you like taking a shower in freezing cold water! No?? Then this hotel is not for you. We are unfortunately staying here for 4 nights. Upon arrival we were checked in and taken to our deluxe king. The only problem... there was nothing deluxe about it. The 3rd floor smelled of mildew and trash and we could barely get through the hallways due to the open trash bags, maids carts, vacuums and a huge industrial fan. As we settled in we realized that they were doing major construction in the room next to ours, the drills were so loud and close to proximity that they shook our walls. The front desk moved us to a standard room (not what we paid for) and offered to give us free breakfast for our troubles. Once moved to our much smaller but somewhat cleaner room we realized that we had NO hot water. We called the desk and after 30 minutes the maintenance man told us that they put on the hot/cold handles backwards. Uhhh??? Ok. So we proceed to shower and the water goes from scolding hot and freezing cold and no in between. Imagine taking that kind of shower for 4- days.

On another note, we had to sleep with our windows open in Dec because the heat just randomly kicks on and is HOT. Like sufficaringly hot. We tried turning it off and it just wouldn't turn off. The unit also makes such loud sounds (even while turned off) that it wakes us up all night, every night.

There are a lot of similar hotels in this neighborhood that are similarly prices. Save yourself the trouble and book elsewhere.

We will never be back.

Excellent location. Great room. Great price. Beds were not too firm. We were surprised how nice this hotel was since we got a last minute excellent rate. Excellent choice. We look forward to staying there again!

Worst hotel I've booked into in my whole life. VERY VERY RUDE STAFF, and the manager was on another level. We booked a room and called them to inform them that we will arrive 6 hours after midnight, will we be able to check in? They told us sure yes of course. When we arrived at 6 in the morning, they refused to check us in and said you need to wait until 4 pm???? The manager was very loud and has no respect at all. So we booked another room at another hotel and we called them to not charge us and their response was " The manager will not allow this, he is the one refusing"!!!!!!.
