Love the Decour of this hotel. It has an old-school retro New York look. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to any needs I had requested. They were always more than willing to help out and went above and beyond. Unfortunately the hotel did not have food and beverage due to Covid restrictions. So if you plan to stay here Bring your own food and beverage. Which is also good in away because it makes it cheaper on your budget. The staff has no problem with you drinking or eating in the lobby if you please. They were very friendly and a great group of people.

Excellent Location and Friendly Staff

The hotel staff are outstanding: incredibly friendly and helpful. Covid unfortunately closed down the restaurant and bar (the latter that looked incredible). It's great for getting around NYC, located 2 blocks from Bryant Park and the subways. Close to Times Square, Rockefeller Center, and other landmarks. The lobby décor is rather dark, yet intimate. The standard room décor is dark and modern in design, although more form over function and slightly worn. Nonetheless, I would definitely stay there again.

Not recommend

I could not believe this was rated 4.5 star hotel. The room vibe was like a small roadside motel, garbage on the floor, dirty window (no views anyways) dirty bathroom with leaking splashing shower hose, broken fridge, loud AC, etc… everything was wrong. Please stay away from this.
I have to say the staff was kind and polite. They let us cancel our second day and gave full refund without too much trouble. We then moved to Intercontinental and was able to stay and sleep peacefully.

I want to personally apologize for your experience here at the Royalton. As I understand, we were unable to cancel your reservation initially because it was prepaid. Once you arrived, I took note of your special occasion and upgraded your accommodation to one of our superior rooms located on a high floor, away from the elevator with the intention that you would be able to get some rest after your long day. I wish I had known about all the negative aspects of your stay at the time you experienced them. I would have done anything I could to make it right for you.

Summer time in NYC!

Check in was smooth and courteous. Front desk switched our room because of cigarette smoke smell and upgraded the room. Thanks. The bathrooms could have used some bleach on the shower walls because of mildew residue. The beds were super comfortable. The staff was consistently friendly and accommodating. The location of this Royalton was perfect. Food, transportation, tourist attractions all within walking distance. Overall we enjoyed this hotel very much.

Summer Vacation 2021

This hotel is in prime location, walking distances to many popular attractions. Less than 10 minute walk to Time Square, Rockefeller Center, Grand Central Station, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Magnolia Bakery and many more! Several coffee shops, and eateries in the area. The staff at the hotel was great and friendly. Hotel is clean and in good shape for a NYC hotel.

A Wonderful Hotel!

This place was a quiet, chic retreat for my family. So close to Times Square, yet relaxing and private.

The staff was so kind to my 2 and 6 yr old children (especially Jennae at checkin!).

I loved the decor and how the beds were sunken into the wall (the kids thought this was cool, too)! It was also nice to have a large tub (in the city!) for my children.

We parked next door in the Hippodrome parking garage with no problems ($75/night for an SUV).

I highly recommend!
