Booked this four star hotel for a short break in NYC. Allocated a really small room that was unclean (mould in the shower) and to see the view from the window we had to stand on bed to look over the old air con unit.
Looking at other reviews on this site it seems that UK travellers get the worst rooms.More
hotel front entrance and bar were updated and great. However we had to move rooms because the shower head was falling off, and the wallpaper peeling due to damp. The second room was slightly better as it had been cleaned, but not around the edges of the room and the bathroom was in need of a complete makeover
Great location but definately tired and in need of an update to bring it up above 2 stars

Easy, quick check in, friendly and helpful staff, room is charming, clean and comfortable. It was all set for our arrival. The concierage was informative in arranging airport pickup. Glad we chose the Stewart for our celebratory visit.

Being a frequent visitor to the Stewart Hotel, we remain totally impressed with the quality of service that we receive during our stays. As a semi-retired retail businessman, I notice a lot of the details that go with the inner workings of running a smooth operation. During a regular stay of 10 to 12 days, there is bound to be some wrinkles. Starting with my arrival, I encountered problems with the room assigned to me. ANDREW TO THE RESCUE ! What a polished, expert, and, courteous professional. Problem solved! Ash helped get us to our room and get us settled in. As we are seniors, he took that extra effort . All during our stay, we would run into Ash. He never failed to ask us if everything was O. K.

If you are in town for an event at Madison Square Gardens there is no better location. And we bar hopped (and had appetizers and heard live music) at four places in as many hours. All very enjoyable. If you are in town for theatre only you probably want to stay a few blocks north, especially in cold months. But it’s a great starting place for Chelsea and beyond. Rooms were very clean and comfortable (not luxurious but you know that by price, right?). Staff super friendly. Great nights sleep. They help make the trip affordable. PS don’t try to Uber from here; it’s confusing. Grab a cab.

We booked for 7 nights and had a one bedroom suite , 2 bathrooms and separate bedroom adjacent to the lounge . It’s clean and spacious ! Beds are comfortable . The check in and out was swift and the staff are really friendly , warm and welcoming . This hotel is central and opposite penn station and Madison square gardens . Easy walk to Macy’s and Times Square . The adjacent bar that is called miles is also a very good place to eat . The food is fantastic , the breakfasts really set u up for the day .
My only negative comment is this hotel is very loud so bring your own ear plugs .... and u will be fine ? It’s next to the fire department and on one night it was just constant ( all be it , it’s not the hotels fault ) other than that this hotel has it all , cleanliness, friendly staff and superb location . We will return thanks again
