My partner and I checked in on the 1st of March. The hotel was booked through a travel agency which included a petite room and included resort fees. Check in was very quick and we were asked if we would like an upgrade which would cost $40 a night. We declined as we thought there would be no need. However when we got to our room, we were shocked at the size. It was definitely petite and we could barely fit in ourselves never mind our luggage. We went straight back down to reception and I spoke to two lovely receptionist who upgraded our room free of charge which was a lovely gesture. Our second room was so much bigger and airey with two bathrooms a sitting room and kitchen. Completely different to the petite room. The rooms are very clean and housekeeping was done every day. The only problem we had was it is very outdated and the windows are barely single glazed so you can hear every bit of noise all night. Ear plugs were provided in the room but they weren't much good so if your going to stay here invest in good earplugs.
The hotel is conveniently located and just across the road from MSG and Penn station. Macys is about 5 minutes walk away and Time Square is about 10 minutes away. Loads of places to eat close by I would recommend Andrews Coffee Shop for breakfast and Mustang Harry's for bar food.
On checking out of the Stewart I was told that they were taking the resort fee from my credit card and I had to show them confirmation that I had already paid it. I showed them my itinerary from the travel agent that it was included but the lady wanted an itemised bill which of course I did not have. I had to explain that I was told this could happen and my travel agent told me to make sure I was not charged. After a bit of discussion with another staff member, she told me she would refund this to me. The staff are very nice in this hotel and very helpful but I think The Stewart just needs a good bit of TLC.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback.

It's unfortunate your time with us was anything less than ideal and that the quality and condition of our accommodations weren't on par with your level of standards. We're also disappointed you had such challenges with the sound insulation in our rooms. The comfort and satisfaction of our guests is important to us so we'll be sure to discuss all of your feedback with the appropriate members of our team moving forward.

We hope for the chance to host you again soon so we can share a more positive experience with you.

I have stayed at the Stewart three times for a business hotel trade show. I have stayed in a 1 bedroom. It is clean and everyone is very helpful. Beside that, the rooms can be quite large, depending on which one you get. The 1 bedroom I stayed in had two bathrooms, which was really great. I especially appreciated the doorman because i had a ton of stuff to unload and a big car. he was so helpful and calmed me down immediately after trying to park it in NY traffic on 7th Ave!
Location is great and I even like the restaurant bar, Nigels. They make great drinks and have reasonable prices. The food is okay too, nothing fancy but fine in a pinch.

Room tip: one bedroom with two beds gets you a much larger space than a one bedroom with one bed.

We stay at the Stewart every time we come to New York. We absolutely love love love the staff there. Everyone is so helpful, from the front desk to housekeepers to upper management. It has the biggest rooms of any hotel in NYC and the beds are super comfortable. It is conveniently located across from Madison Square Garden and Penn Station. There are tons of stores around and great restaurants. Lots of love to the Stewart! 10/10 would recommend to a friend. <3<3<3

This was our first time staying in The Stewart and the best place I’ve ever stayed in NYC! Great location and the staff were very eager to help get our AC fixed! Jessica at the front desk very kindly introduced us to Jason (or Justin) and they got it fixed right away! Jason introduced us to David and Oscar who told us all the great places to see comedy and gave us some very good restaurant recommendations! Very pleased with the stay here, will definitely be back
