I want to recognize Maria from the Philippines at the lobby bar for amazing service. We got to the hotel on Thursday late and was starving. We went to the lobby bar but the kitchen was closed. Maria saw how tired and down we were she went to ask the kitchen if she could get some food for us. We were able to order chicken wings and fries (which was really good) and she made our whole trip. We get comparing service everywhere we went to Maria. This is service and making someone experience brilliant!

Our experience (our family came here to celebrate my Birthday) was superior in terms of service. The car was attended to immediately in spite of the fact it was a busy Saturday in NYC. The attendant was friendly and funny as was the person taking our suitcases to the lobby. The line at the front desk was long but moved exceedingly quickly as when we arrived at our rooms on the 27th floor everything was ready for us.
The elevators are some of the fastest I have ever been in. They are also controlled through a system where you walk up to a panel and key in your room number and the system will pick the elevator (there are many) that you should wait at as that will be the fastest one to get to where you are going. Very Cool. The rooms were very clean and nicely arranged but no fridge. A quick call and we had one delivered within 10 minutes! Each room had a large TV, very low toilets, and a somewhat limited view over TS. Beds were comfy and the bathroom's had marble vanities and were spacious.
I had expected a bit more luxurious look for the price but hey, it's NYC. Also called front desk to get a late checkout next day - no problem. Went back down to the Broadway Lounge and Terrace for a welcome drink and met "Vinny" the bartender. Again, an example of their superior service and attention to guests, Vinny was very attentive and humorous and made our first night memorable even though we were there only a 1/2 hour.
The hotel is close to many restaurants as well as Rockefeller Center, Radio City, even Central Park. Obviously being almost in the center of Times Square provides easy walks to stores, novelty shops, and many, many street vendors.
But what made it special for us was that even upon retrieving our car as we were going home, the guys on the parking reception area remembered us and call out our names. Impressive. As I said impeccable and friendly service.

Room tip: Ask for rooms front-facing Broadway

Standard room with partial Time's Square view. Clean and decent. The ladies at the reception desk were rude and unhelpful. The place might become particularly crowded so occasionally there are issues with the elevators (although there are many of those). The waitresses at the bar very friendly and helpful. Generally, try to avoid Time's Square hotels.

We stayed here for 5 nights and we loved it. We could see the Time Square and since the hotel is situated right in middle of Broadway street, we could see all the billboards right from our room. The roads are brightly lit even in the middle of the night. The stay at the hotel was nice and pleasant. The breakfast spread was delicious and had quite a variety.

We are staying at the Marriott Marquis for the first time. Expecting great location and standard service. We are at the end, very disappointed with their service. We are staying in a room with double bed, and planning for our son to join us for the weekend at the hotel. We inquired with the reception at 6pm today that my son would be using the sofo bed at around 10:30pm, and confirmed that the bed be turned down. We got back to the hotel by 9:30pm. The sofa bed was not prepared yet. We called in to the "at your service" customer service line, inquiring about the sofa bed request. The reception "at your service" was very unprofessional. She told us that the bed can be turned down on our own, with the extra pillow in the shelf. "Should we send someone over to your room, to turn down the bed which was already ready to be used". We explained that it was the staffs at the reception who told us that the bed would be prepared by the hotel. And this lady on purpose sounded really impatient, "so would you like us to turn down the sofa bed which should be done on your own....". We have been traveling in a lot of global hotel chains, and have never experienced such poor service, The lady at the line "at your service" made us felt very stupid and demanding.... We are starwood gold members and now turned, marriott members from the merge. We would NEVER stay in Marriott Marquis Times Square again. Hotel service is very poor... what a disappointment. Complaints from Lou at 3917 during 18-23 March 2019.
