Our experience (our family came here to celebrate my Birthday) was superior in terms of service. The car was attended to immediately in spite of the fact it was a busy Saturday in NYC. The attendant was friendly and funny as was the person taking our suitcases to the lobby. The line at the front desk was long but moved exceedingly quickly as when we arrived at our rooms on the 27th floor everything was ready for us.
The elevators are some of the fastest I have ever been in. They are also controlled through a system where you walk up to a panel and key in your room number and the system will pick the elevator (there are many) that you should wait at as that will be the fastest one to get to where you are going. Very Cool. The rooms were very clean and nicely arranged but no fridge. A quick call and we had one delivered within 10 minutes! Each room had a large TV, very low toilets, and a somewhat limited view over TS. Beds were comfy and the bathroom's had marble vanities and were spacious.
I had expected a bit more luxurious look for the price but hey, it's NYC. Also called front desk to get a late checkout next day - no problem. Went back down to the Broadway Lounge and Terrace for a welcome drink and met "Vinny" the bartender. Again, an example of their superior service and attention to guests, Vinny was very attentive and humorous and made our first night memorable even though we were there only a 1/2 hour.
The hotel is close to many restaurants as well as Rockefeller Center, Radio City, even Central Park. Obviously being almost in the center of Times Square provides easy walks to stores, novelty shops, and many, many street vendors.
But what made it special for us was that even upon retrieving our car as we were going home, the guys on the parking reception area remembered us and call out our names. Impressive. As I said impeccable and friendly service.
