Wonderful staff. Perfect location.

As a Platinum member, I expect a lot from a Marriott. So when I say I’m very happy here, it does mean something.

I checked in to this hotel 3 times in July, for a total of 9 nights. Always got a room on a high floor, with stunning views. Not many rooms on each floor, so the wait for the elevators was never long, which was very important to me. Plus elevators for lower and higher floors are separated, so you don’t have to stop at every floor when you try to get to work in the morning.

Executive lounge is adequate. I say adequate as I just came back from Dubai where the Marriott executive lounge was like a full-service restaurant. That said, the thing that sets the lounge here apart from other locations is the staff. I love that is the same staff every time I go there. They recognize you and always make you feel welcome. It’s like coming home. It’s nice to see familiar faces. Thank you Eli, Irene, Dee Dee for always being great hosts. I missed out one lady’s name, but there’s a fourth there.

Front desk staff are also very welcoming, friendly, and accommodating. I only caught the names Geraldine and Adnan, but the whole team was wonderful.

Location is hard to beat, especially if you enjoy walking. Close to many, many subway stations as well, so you can go to anywhere in the city, including the 3 main airports if you feel adventurous.

Great location - near to subway as well as many major attractions. Has a restaurant on the ground floor, and many other eateries within walking distance.

A short walk to the Battery Park(and the ferry to Liberty Island) as well as the Memorial Park.

As soon as we got close to the hotel we were met by Idris who guided us inside, helped us with our bags and showed us where the front desk was. He put our bags to the side so we could check in then introduced us to Mr. Norman who would bring our things up to our room. We were only in town for a few days and wanted to maximize our stay. Our room was ready and clean. The front desk staff were amazing and Mr. Norman was a light. He had so much energy and made my boys feel so special. He shared some special history about the location and our view from 9/11. He made sure we had everything we needed and checked on us throughout our stay when we walked through the lobby. He told my boys “I was looking for you yesterday!” They felt like superstars. Idris was outside guiding the guests and made sure we knew where we were going so we didn’t look lost in the city. The housekeepers were amazing. The room was very clean and cleaned each day. The size of the rooms were the best we’ve seen in NY. We were super comfortable. Close to a lot of attractions and food plus the train. The food from the restaurant was so good. We ate there for breakfast and lunch a few times. The room credit was helpful to cover lunch, drinks and snacks. We also ran into the front desk manager who was so helpful as well. We can’t wait to come back.

Room tip: Get to breakfast early because some days they get really busy and the wait is long.

We love the location and the hotel! A great and smooth check in with a wonderful lady called Samantha. She was so friendly and recognised my husbands platinum for life status and upgraded us to a beautiful corner junior suite overlooking the Hudson one side and the freedom tower the other. We usually stay midtown but prefer this location as abit quieter. Samantha also checked us out upon departure and gave us a lovely gift which we didn't expect but was a lovely touch to a lovely stay. Was a lovely start to our holiday before we went on our cruise. So a big thank you and we will be back!

Gordon the front office manager was patient and resourceful when we forgot our physical card and only had Apple Pay. He had excellent customer service skills throughout our stay. The room was spacious, clean and quiet with a great night sleep. There is a Starbucks and FedEx in the building, the 9/11 museum is 3 minute walk away. The Concierge team were friendly and looked like they loved their jobs! Great stay and highly recommend it his hotel.

WORST HOTEL IN THE WORLD!
If I could give less than 1 star I would have given -100.
The worst hotel I stayed in. Very rude staff, very bad service, disgusting rooms, and thiefs. I stayed in this hotel because it was the closest to where I had work, but it was my worst experience.
My rooms was smelling weed and cigarettes, and I don’t smoke. When I complained about the smell they wanted to charge me with smoking fees . Ironic. And the staff member who spoke to me was the most disrespectful person I’ve seen in my life.
