We found this a good place to base ourselves while exploring the city. We found the staff very good, friendly and informative. There were some hiccups - we had to change room as the first room was next to the lifts and the ice machine, so we were disturbed by mechanical noise the whole first night. They moved us without a problem though. Then we had no bathrobes. Then they took away our face towels and hand towels when cleaning the room and didn’t replace them. Then for some reason they took away the room information folder. Because it was winter, they don’t have air conditioning but if you put on the heating you can’t moderate the temperature at all, so the room was either too hot or too cold and we had to ask for extra blankets to be warm enough at night......

The other disappointment was that there was no proper restaurant for evening meals, just the burger joint (awful - see my earlier review). The breakfast option was limited, Norma’s was so busy difficult to get a seat, so we always ate elsewhere, cheaper and pleasanter.

But overall it was a good place, rooms were spacious (we had a junior suite) and the pool on the 42nd floor had the most wonderful view of Central Park though the pool itself wasn’t much to write home about. The staff were very helpful, they were the best thing about the hotel, as well as the location which was great for exploring lots of different parts of the city. We would go back.

This is an excellent hotel. The front desk staff provide knowledgeable, helpful, supportive service. They go the extra mile to accommodate requests. Its busy, obviously a high demand choice. Location, location, location: around the corner from Carnegie Hall, walk to 5th Ave shops, Central Park etc... Almost no need for taxis unless that's what you prefer; subway and M buses close by to most points of interest. If you know New York, this location makes it even easier to get around. Note the two entrances 57th and 56th, one enters to the lobby, the other to the bar (but please don't disturb the bar patrons with your bags). I cant wait to visit again and stay longer. The room comfortable, the Burger Joint with a long line lives up to its reputation, hotel bar cozy and intimate, Norma's breakfast the bomb with excellent service. In addition, this was a good choice for my DreamTrip excursion.

The location is good and the staff was very friendly from the front desk to housekeeping. If we had any questions, they were more than willing to help. The rooms were pretty basic but the hotel was clean. I enjoyed the 3 oz. shampoo and conditioner and it smelled good. Overall I was pleased with my stay but there were a few things I didn't like. We were on the 8th floor facing 56th and we had no view and could hear traffic from the street. The beds were a little small and i'm not used to that.

We were very pleased with our stay at Le Parker Meridien.
The room was comfortable and had all we needed - except drinks making facilities (as had been said in other reviews). The staff were polite and helpful at all times, even arranging for an additional surprise for us when they found out it was our wedding anniversary as well.
Having researched in advance, we were aware of the potential extras and the higher costs of staying in this hotel. The bar and ‘a la carte’ restaurant are both very expensive, but the burger bar is more reasonable and worth the wait in line. WiFi allowance is also limited for the stay, with automatic charges once you go over the allocation.
The only disappointment was the pool, which stated it would be ‘adults only’ after a certain time in their room information, but was not actually enforced. Whilst not a big issue, it would have been nice to have some quieter time in what is a lovely setting.
We would recommend this hotel, but would strongly suggest checking on the extras and what you are prepared to spend there before booking.

I've stayed at this hotel several times. On my most recent trip I noticed that the rooms feel like they need some updating (older carpet, older furniture). Minimal, thin blankets/comforter on the bed (a bit odd as we stay in a lot of hotels) - it almost seemed like they forgot the bedspread. No minibar. For NY, the rooms are decent sized and seemed to be fairly good on keeping noise (from other travelers) to a minimum. Hotel also has a bit of an odd layout without signs pointing you to exactly where you need to go to check in, etc. Nice coffee/tea/dessert section closer to 57th street side of the building. Old style barber shop in the main lobby with reasonable priced haircuts for kids and men.
