The location of the hotel is good for almost every kind of activities. Also, the hotel associates are pretty helpful and hospitable.

However, there is a hidden daily facility fee ($15 per room) if you made your reservation by redeeming SPG points. The fee never got disclosed during the redeeming process. The hotel is really old. the decor and furniture in the guest room look very dirty. there is no water or coffee maker in the room so you either call room service to get drinking water or go outside and buy your own. The toilet paper properly is the cheapest paper as it feels like sandpaper (don't ask me how I knew).

Pretty good chance you wouldn't get an upgraded room as Platinum SPG member in this hotel despite there were plenty of better room on sale for the same duration of the reservation. The associate gave the explanation as "more than half of our guests are Platiumn members", no enough updated rooms available for SPG platinum.

Given the price of the hotel, I would say there are other better options in that area. Unless you are a diehard of this brand, I would not recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Go to Fairmont The Plaza if you want a good room around this price.

Thanks for staying with us and for sharing your thoughts. I'm sorry to see that your stay fell short of your expectations. Our facility fee is by no means hidden; when making an SPG booking, the fee is disclosed in the local terms and conditions portion of the booking page and is prominently mentioned in its own paragraph on all of the confirmation e-mails sent to you. It is mentioned in many of our online reviews and has been in place for almost five years. My colleague who told you that more than half of our guests were Platinum members was not lying; the high rates in NYC during the holiday season tends to greatly increase the number of guests staying on SPG points, such as yourself, and a good majority of those guests are Platinum level. We upgrade Platinum guests whenever we can, but when over half of the rooms are occupied by Platinum guests, upgrading everyone is simply not possible. I'm very sorry that this upset you.
I'm very sorry that we weren't a good fit for you, but wish you all the best in your future travels.

We arrived from the Uk on the 30th December- from the moment we arrived everyone has been helpful.
The concierge have been very helpful in providing us with information, printing out paperwork. The front desk upgraded us straight away to a higher floor so we could see the sites of New York better.
The reception area is always busy, but the staff walking around are good at seeing to everyone.
The room was what we needed- somewhere to lay are heads, we knew we were going to do site seeing more than be in the room, therefore we weren’t fussy on high expectations.
The room however give us everything we needed, clean, tidy, large comfy bed - the shower is powerful and efficient.
I would give the room a 3/5, but that’s because it needs a little uplifting- but again can’t fault what it offers.
Thank you to the team at the hotel for our lovely stay over the new year, we picked a good place.

I have had both experiences at the Parker New York. I think the last time I stayed here there was construction and the hotel was arrogant and did not care. I had a great stay this time. They gave me a nice room. The hotel is conveniently located in mid-town. Has a great breakfast place and a cult-like burger joint in the lobby. The gym is a private gym that hotel guests can stay. It can get crowded at the typical times, but a nice facility. I recently got notified that the hotel is changing from a Starwood property to be independently managed. We will see what impact this has. . . .

nice hotel but totally overpriced. the rooms were ok sizewise and at least mine needed a facelift. the staff were attentive and caring which was a big plus. the location is great if you are seeing a show and want to be near the shopping and Rock Center. however at $500+ for our one night it was a bit much. i would go back if we could get a room deal and get placed on a floor that was recently re-done as the location is excellent for enjoying NYC

Great hotel, rooms are a little dated (the junior suites are better than the king) but overall OK.

Bar at the hotel is very nice, ask for Terry to make your drinks.

Location is close to Central Park, walkable to Times Square and subway is nearby for other places you want to visit.

There is a barbershop at the hotel which is cool - worth a cut / shave if you're there.

Front desk & housekeeping services could be improved i.e. Ensuring water bottles restocked, clean towels in place, etc. had to make multiple calls through the week to get basic things done.

Definitely better than Westin at Times Square if you're comparing SPG properties.

Overall good. Will return to stay.
