I was disappointed with our stay at The Kimberly. Based on the positive reviews, I had booked a night away at the AAA discounted rate for a One Bedroom Luxury Suite weeks before our arrival. Perhaps staying for only one night and getting a discount for AAA is a license for being put in the cheap seats. The room was on the 2nd floor (the lowest floor possible without being in the basement) right across from the elevator. The room was shabby and dark with no balcony or jacuzzi. The carpet was dirty and the furnishings were worn. Upon requesting a room on a higher floor we were told "sorry, no other rooms are available." Really, in the entire hotel, we saved the crappiest room just for you is how it felt. We didn't sleep well because it was so loud with the elevator going up and down, the people getting off and on right outside our door, the street traffic and people talking on the sidewalk right outside our windows. Really not what I had in mind for my milestone birthday night away with my family. The only positive was the bed was comfortable, and I had a lot of time to notice as I laid awake all night with the noise.

Room Tip: Request higher floor way in advance, if they can't guarantee you one, don't stay here, the lower floors are loud.

Thank you for sharing your valued feedback. While we were honoured to have you with us on such a special occasion, we deeply regret to learn about your lackluster experience. It is true that the hotel was completely sold out during your visit due to the Easter & Passover holidays but it is also true that we could have done a much better job in helping you celebrate your birthday appropriately.
You would never be a third class passenger due to having booked any discounted rate. After all... we were the ones who offered those rates. Much to the contrary, we would highly appreciate an opportunity to make it up to you on your next trip to Manhattan. I am completely available should there be anything in which we may be of assistance when planning your return trip.

Our family of two adults and 2 children stayed for 5 nights at The Kimberly Hotel and got an unbelievable good service from the Assistant General Manager Mr. Jorge Garciadealba.
We have stayed at many different hotels over the years but Mr. Garciadealba´s personality and customer understanding made our stay one to remember and
want us come to this wonderful hotel!

We needed a two bedroom two bath place and this was perfect. The rooms were immaculate, the staff friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond with any request. Oasis in the city. Great location. We attended Easter service within a five minute walk and came back for brunch. So convenient.

We have stayed at The Kimberly several times. April 1, 2018 was: 1) my 70th birthday, 2) Easter Sunday, 3) April Fools Day.

So we orders room service for breakfast. The bill came to just over $75.00.

The waiter forgot the sugar for our coffee, the granola for our son, plates for my wife’s pastry basket, spoons, etc. My wife got two small bagels - no cream cheese - one small muffin and two mini croissants.

When we complained, he said there was no more cream cheese in the hotel but he would check upstairs in the rooftop lounge. That was the last we saw of him.

So, my wife went down to the front desk. They waived the charge for the botched service and gave us complimentary breakfast the next day at the rooftop lounge. The very nice lady at the front desk was appalled.

Despite this incident, we are very likely to return and to recommend this hotel to friends and family.

My wife and I just spent four nights at the Kimberly and couldn't have been happier with the hotel and with each of the employees we met. We loved the location near everything we wanted to do in NY, but also enjoyed that it's just a little removed from the noisy energy a block or two away.
The people at the front desk were extremely attentive and housekeep did a great job when we asked for early cleanup.
Our room was a one bedroom suite, which was great, and probably had the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in,
We've staid in a lot of glitzy hotels in New York and elsewhere, but this is definitely now our favorite in Manhattan.

Room Tip: High up, suites are worth it.
