We had a late lunch on a Friday afternoon. Sat side by side on one of the comfortable, pillowed benches in the front of the room and admired the large, beautiful room. Take a moment to look around. There is so much to see. Enjoyed a variety of crostini, salmon and lamb. Staff was very attentive and pleasant. A very relaxed, delicious lunch in an interesting setting.

So Meatpacking was the area of choice for a celebratory meal with the combination of friendly background natter and a certain level that could be expected from such a popular & socially orientated corner of the big apples offerings!

After much deliberation we decided the Fig and Olive would be a perfect mixture of intimacy combined with a open atmosphere.

And it did not disappoint!

From the centrally located Bar acting as a hub for conversing to the minimalist yet comfortable decor, this place was deserving of the highest praise!

We didn't book a table and were accommodated for, being a party of 6 people this was done whilst we sipped on a drink within 20minutes, we found ourselves seated.

The service from the staff was of a very good standard and felt attentive without being forced.

The menu whilst not carrying masses of colourful and complicated dishes was more than adequate and serves most culinary preferences well.

The presentation of the food combined with the actual flavour was something that stood out for us and was something that would compel us to visit again.

We found the price to be in line with most other NYC eateries and establishments so the service that was provided to accompany the delicious food helped raise the experience above and beyond the other locations we had visited.

The portion size was enough to ensure that anyone dining didn't feel aggrieved for whatever the final bill may be.

And i would argue that the value for money aspect could definitely be seen as a positive in this case.

All in all a great location to visit as a romantic meal for two or even for drinks and food with friends.

I would highly recommend anyone visiting New York to pay a visit to the meat packing area and try The Fig and Olive experience for themselves.

Will definitely return on next visit to NYC!

I've been here twice now, my girlfriends took me here for a bachlorette party dinner and then i liked the food so much I brought my husband for our anniversary after getting married. The first time I wasn't involved in any logistics just picked what I want to eat and called it a day and the food was very yummy. This time I did all the planning. The place was very nice, service very professional - but I had purchased a groupon. We ordered a few crostini, very nice (small little canipe's) and then octopus - very delicious but there were like 3 pieces of octopus and 5 pieces of a potato and that generally cost $12 or so ... insane. The entree's were amazing, my husband got lamb chops and I got the tajine both very yummy. Drinks were great service very nice.

The Fig and Olive group of restaurants in NYC and Westchester has become a regular in my business lunch rotation. The food is good, reasonably priced and the service is invariably good.

This restaurant did not disappoint, We were seated right away and the server came over right away and took our drink orders. All the servers and and bus staff were very attentive. We started with the trio of vegetables and crostini. Both were delicious. For dinner I had the truffle risotto with grilled chicken (best risotto I've ever had!) and my husband had the veal milanese. Overall a very enjoyable meal.
