We stayed here recently on a trip to NY and really enjoyed it. We are always on the lookout for a good hotel near the Theater District and I think we hit the jackpot with the Knickerbocker. The location is wonderful in the heart of Times Square and Broadway and perfect for going to see a show. It's also a quick and easy walk (e.g., 13 minutes) to Penn Station if the cab line is too long or you're coming from an event at MSG.The hustle and bustle of Times Square ends when you enter the hotel: it's very quiet and tranquil with no awareness of the chaos and noise outside. The rooms are minimalist and modern, but still warm and nicely appointed with blackout shades and quality toiletries. The bed was SUPER comfy and so were the pillows (very full and firm). We slept great both nights we were there. We stayed in a deluxe king room which included a comfy sofa, large TV and huge bathroom with a walk-in shower. There is a Charlie Palmer's in the hotel and we grabbed a quick bite there before the show one evening. The food was tasty and the bar was pretty crowded. We stopped back by the bar later that evening after the show and it was pretty dead, but still great customer service. Everyone we encountered throughout the hotel was really friendly and checked in with us multiple times about how the hotel was and if we were enjoying ourselves. I had mentioned it was my husband's birthday and room service delivered a piece of birthday cake. It was a nice touch and very thoughtful. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again.
