Description: We are a Classic American Steakhouse in the heart Greenwich Village. Wood panel walls, and comfy booths, give the feel of an earlier era. In business for over 40 years, serving Great American Fare and our Famous 28 oz T Bone Steaks. We feature Live Jazz on Friday and Saturday Evenings starting at 9:00 till 1:00. Harry Connick Jr. got his start at the Knick. We have our share of local celebrities from Chris Noth, Alec Baldwin, F. Murray Abraham, Josh Charles, Jessica Lange, just to name a few. Good Food & Good Jazz is what we are. Most items are all made on premise, from house made desserts, ice creams and sorbets, to our house made pastas and house smoked salmon, and our popular Caviar Pie. We pour a good drink at reasonable prices, as are our portions of food. Our T Bone Steaks include creamed spinach and mashed potatoes.

Warm reception, dim lights, boiseries, cosy but large and packed with people, talkative nice waiters, excellent Martini dry, homemade bread and tender tasty T-bone, not to forget the splendid chocolate souffle, so what's disappointing? not being said goodbye when leaving despite we tipped more than 10%, probably it was below the suggested gratuity....

PS: please remind 'gratuity' comes from earlier Latin 'gratuitus', "free, freely given" .

Stumbled upon this place by complete accident late on a Friday. Short wait for a table listening to some great live music. Got seated and had some great steaks and wine in a fine atmosphere. Not to be missed!

Loved the homey and old-fashioned atmosphere at this throwback restaurant located in the heart of NYU. I enjoyed a relaxing brunch in a half round booth with my parents and their friend. My omelette and my mom’s grilled chicken sandwich were excellent; my dad and their friend sent back their corned beef hash and eggs and ordered something else. Our server could not have been more accommodating. Just a pleasant afternoon. One little note is that there is no place to check your coat but there are hooks to hang them up as you head to the restrooms.

Knickerbocker is an institution in NYC. It’s always crowded but never too noisy, and the servers are attentive, friendly & fun. A friend and I split their famous T-Bone steak and loved every bite. It’s a bit pricey, but so worth it for the atmosphere and food quality.

Make reservations! Then be prepared to wait a few minutes. But, it's worth it.

For appetizers we ordered octopus and the scallops. Absolutely delicious. I wanted more of each dish!

Main course we ordered ribs and they were tasty and juicy. We also ordered the trout Wich was fresh and seasoned.

We were too full for dessert.

Can't wait to go back!!
