Description: One of America’s most beloved restaurants, Gramercy Tavern has welcomed guests for close to two decades to enjoy seasonal American cuisine, warm hospitality and unparalleled service. The restaurant is perennially ranked at the top of Zagat Survey’s ‘Most Popular’ list, and has garnered eight James Beard Awards including ‘Outstanding Restaurant’ and ‘Best Chef: NYC’. Chef Michael Anthony’s highly seasonal menu consists of elegant dishes with a rustic influence that showcase the restaurant’s relationships with local farms and purveyors. The Main Dining Room serves prix-fixe menus starting at $92 for dinner and an a la carte menu for lunch, and accepts reservations 28 days in advance. The more casual Tavern serves an a la carte menu centered around the wood burning grill, and welcomes guests on a walk-in basis. The restaurant also features an acclaimed wine list, and thoughtfully selected beer and cocktail offerings.

I did have a nice meal on what was my first visit to Gramercy Tavern. The crab and lobster soup was exceptional, and I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of crab.
The striped bass was also good. Atmosphere I would say was very good.

From the amuse-bouche of a deep fried rice ball (so tasty) to the desert of cookies and small toffee, sesame chocolate wonders, this was a great lunch. No reservations, and it was busy, but we got in with no problem. The coat check even has a place to charge your phone. I have to admit it was a need for me.

The host staff was wonderful as were the waiters and waitresses. We had to be in the dining room instead of the "tavern" so the menu was a little different, but it was still great. I didn't even have time to take pictures because the food was gone to quickly.

Gramercy is one of those "must eat there" types of places. Yes, it's Danny Meyer's restaurant, so it's going to have a reputation for quality, but it's always nice when the reputation is the same as the reality. We were treated well, the food was great and it was quiet enough for a great business conversation. Will do this again!!!

Awesome chef tasting menu, with several little additions throughout the night. Wonderful wine pairings with super helpful staff and a great sommelier. Really great environment and overall fabulous meal. Enjoyed this more than other multi-Michelin star meals for half the price. Still an expensive night but very worth it.

The meal was very good but not worthy of the price. It was fairly pedestrian - not exciting at all. I am glad that we went to the famous Gramercy Tavern dining room but the food was just not interesting.

One of our favorite restaurants in NYC, or anywhere. Every time we've gone we just sit there and exclaim how deliciously exquisite everything is. I wish it was easier to get a table but it's no surprise it's always packed.
