This Inn is in a fantastic area in the Financial District. It's conveniently within walking distance of multiple subway lines and the Staten Island Ferry. I felt safe walking alone late at night from the subway as a female in this part of the city.
The staff was friendly. Our room was large for NYC, and I loved the historic vibe.
The one draw back was our window was next to an alley courtyard with open air seating for nearby bars/ pubs. Due to the older exterior windows, the noise was loud at night when we tried to sleep. We used our earplugs and it helped. The black out curtains dampened the sound as well. We're from a rural community though, and used to sleeping with pure quiet at night, which doesn't exist in large cities.
It was still so much better than staying in another part of the city with lots of traffic and sirens at night. I've done that in newer hotels in other parts of the city and this was a lot better. We didn't hear noise inside the hotel or from any other guests through interior walls.
The front desk was staffed 24 hours a day with at least one person at front desk. They were pleasant, greeted us when we came and went, and helpful answering questions and navigating.
I enjoyed the smaller touches you don't get in a large chain hotel like an umbrella to use during our stay, and a bowl of candy at the front desk.
Booking directly through their website saved us money and they gave us a complimentary room upgrade.
I would stay again and highly recommend it for business travelers, solo female travelers, couples, international travelers, and small families with preteens/ teens.
