I stayed here for four nights in mid June and had a really fantastic stay. The staff were really friendly and the hotel very clean, comfortable and modern.
I had been a little concerned after booking when I had read the reviews about broken lifts and construction work next door but we didn’t experience any problems with either. So I personally don’t think that the hotel merits the low rating.
Despite being downtown the hotel is really convenient for most places. It is well served by multiple subway stations and we never struggled to jump on a train to get everywhere we wanted really quickly and easily.
Due to the location by the World Trade Centre memorial this is a pretty quiet and slower paced part of Manhattan which we really liked. The construction that has taken place since 9/11 has been sympathetic to the events that took place and recognise the significant sacrifices of those who lost their lives.
It is still part of a busy and vibrant part of Manhattan though, close to Wall Street, Battery Park and the Staten Island Ferry. We also easily walked across the Brooklyn Bridge from the hotel so I really liked the location.
The room was probably a bit small by American standards but big enough by European. The bed was really comfortable and the bathroom modern and came with nice toiletries.
A deli is being opened below the hotel which is the only thing I would have liked to have been different - that it had already opened as it looked great.
Would definitely stay again.
