Head in the Clouds

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Jul 15, 2024via mobile
Stayed here for one night in July 2024. This is a good hotel and exceeded expectations. Great location near the World Trade Center complex. Room was spotless and the views were tremendous. Good price for New York and would definitely recommend.

I stayed here for four nights in mid June and had a really fantastic stay. The staff were really friendly and the hotel very clean, comfortable and modern.

I had been a little concerned after booking when I had read the reviews about broken lifts and construction work next door but we didn’t experience any problems with either. So I personally don’t think that the hotel merits the low rating.

Despite being downtown the hotel is really convenient for most places. It is well served by multiple subway stations and we never struggled to jump on a train to get everywhere we wanted really quickly and easily.

Due to the location by the World Trade Centre memorial this is a pretty quiet and slower paced part of Manhattan which we really liked. The construction that has taken place since 9/11 has been sympathetic to the events that took place and recognise the significant sacrifices of those who lost their lives.

It is still part of a busy and vibrant part of Manhattan though, close to Wall Street, Battery Park and the Staten Island Ferry. We also easily walked across the Brooklyn Bridge from the hotel so I really liked the location.

The room was probably a bit small by American standards but big enough by European. The bed was really comfortable and the bathroom modern and came with nice toiletries.

A deli is being opened below the hotel which is the only thing I would have liked to have been different - that it had already opened as it looked great.

Would definitely stay again.

Thank you for your stay and very kind review. Often guests comment on things out of our control and evaluate us on amenities and services we do not offer. We greatly appreciate your direct feedback and look forward to your return,

The location of the hotel is very good, in between two subway stations- the World Trade Center and Rector Street. The entire Financial district, and Brooklyn Bridge within walking distance. 20mins with subway to the Uptown.

We are a family with 2 kids (7yrs and 2yrs old) the size of the room is sufficient when compared to other NYC hotels we previously stayed in.
We very much appreciated having a microwave in the room, also an iron.

Breakfast was a bit pricey like 25dolars p.p, however that is a regular price in NYC, and when compared to other hotels we stayed in - quality and variety of food was not comparable. The staff working at breakfast was very polite and kind.

Overall a great stay, best we’ve had in NYC, and we visited several times.
Plus very quiet, we didn’t hear any noise around.

Really cool hotel. Boutique. Nice designs. Awesome bar. Great location. Walking distance to WTC and Tribeca. Lots of great places to eat around. Small rooms but a very comfy king sized bed. The staff is super nice and helpful. The breakfast buffet is ok but I’m a food snob and hard to satisfy.

The Location of the hotel is very good. But we waited almost every morning arround 15-20 minutes for an elevator to go outside the hotel. The stairs is an option but you walk a long time if you are in a high level. The people who work here are not the friendliest. The room is modern and clean but there are only but lights. Not one big light. So the room is really dark.

Thank you for your stay and feedback. We are working with our elevator service provider to address the issues we have had with the elevators. Regretfully, they are out of our control. When an issue occurs, we do have our team in place to assist guests getting in/out of the hotel as quickly and efficiently as possible. We GREATLY appreciate your understanding and patience!
