I have just returned from a 5 night stay in this hotel. The only positive thing I can say about this hotel is that its location is good. Other than that where will I start????? The room I had was extremely dated, dark, dingy with no outlook whatsoever. I had no idea what the weather was like in the morning, which perhaps isn't unusual for New York hotels. The decor was dull and worn with marks on the walls and carpet and the paintwork was chipped and faded.
The lifts, as has been mentioned were very slow, you could easily wait 5 minutes for one, and as I was on the 6th floor the stairs weren't really an option.
The breakfast was self service and consisted of bagels, bread, muffins and pastries, the orange juice was watered down and there were paper plates and plastic cutlery!! I have never come across this in a hotel before! There was certainly no sign of cereal, eggs, yoghurt or any of the other things mentioned in a previous review.
The happy hour in the rooftop bar wasn't free as it had been in our hotel in Washington. There was a small reduction in the already overpriced drinks.
For the privilege of staying in this extremely poor hotel I paid over £200 a night which I think is appalling. No location is worth this level of ripoff!

Room Tip: Go to a different hotel!

ok, so -great location, great price usually -and service isnt too bad, just not perfect. First do not checkin before 2:30pm as rooms will not be ready, stated on their hotel policy when booking. If checking in after 3pm, its a breeze. The rooms are slowly deteriorating, i can see how it was probably great at one time, like a hampton inn, but as of today, theres clear wear & tear on room. Theres no central air as it was restored im sure from a much older building, windows do open, but then the koreatown BBQ smell & noise comes in. Carpet is in shambles, & has an odor depending on the room. Bathroom toilet is beyond amazing pressure, but the shower is a let down, and shower area is dated & needs major maintenance, no exhaust fan. Beds are a bit more than average, and outlets are hard to find, wifi is free and available. SO why stay here? because you are sleeping in this room, it has a good bed & hot water shower in an amazing location - All depends on how much you are willing to pay for that. easily a 3 star, staff 4 star, bathroom 2 star, bed 3 star, air control 2 star, location 5 star.

Good for a cheap hotel in the center of Manhattan. But what they call breakfast is nothing short of disgusting. 3 day old donuts that they call fresh, dry bagels, and a hard boiled egg are the choices. The coffee is a waste of good water.

If you're taking the Vamoose bus, consider this hotel. We've stayed here multiple times. Not fancy and few amenities, but clean and good sized rooms. HINT--check price a few days before arrival day, because it can go down.
