The Lotte New York Palace is our new Favorite Hotel.
The Midtown location is unbeatable. The view overlooking St. Patrick’s Cathedral is magnificent. The historic property is lovely and beautifully cared for but what makes this hotel Truly Perfect is the Amazing Staff.
From the moment we arrived until our parting hugs, we experienced true hospitality in the heart of NYC. Thanks to Paul at the front desk, our check-in and checkout process was seamless and our lovely room was allergen free. (Our asthma sufferers were completely symptom free during our stay even though the property welcomes pets.) We were warmly greeted by the hotel Manager as well as fellow hotel guests who, as repeat visitors, promised that we would indeed fall in love with the hotel and the staff - and indeed we did fall in love with this bright spot of genuine hospitality. The manager raced off and quickly returned to surprise my daughter and me with adorable crowns to ‘light up’ our celebratory birthday trip. Raymond and the bell staff made sure that our luggage was handled, stored and delivered seamlessly during our arrival and departure. We were intrigued by the hotel's architecture, history, and pop culture Gossip Girl tie-in and the hotel's security officer, Maurice, noticed our interest and kindly whisked us away for a fabulous impromptu welcome tour of this magnificent hotel while we awaited our room. We were intrigued by the hotel's architecture, history, and pop culture Gossip Girl tie-in and the hotel's security officer, Maurice, noticed our interest and kindly whisked us away for a fabulous impromptu welcome tour of this magnificent hotel while we awaited our room. We loved the tour, the fabulous photos he snapped for us, and his thorough knowledge of the hotel's history and lore. We looked forward to Maurice's warm smile and thoughtful greetings throughout our stay. While there are innumerable places to have a glass of champagne and cocktail in midtown, the Villiard in The Gold Room sets itself apart with service. We returned again and again to enjoy the top notch service and genuine hospitality with Nicola and Melissa. The fabulous coffee, a perfect Blueberry No-jito, and lovely libations would have been enough to bring us back but Nicola and Melissa made us feel as though we were dining among old friends in this magnificently opulent Gold Room. Our room was serviced as if by magic throughout our stay. We were wonderfully unaware of maid service but consistently pleased with the cleanliness of our room. I was rarely aware of staff on our hallway but as I struggled out of the elevator with coffee and pastries one morning I was greeted by Carlos who helped deliver my coffee with care. Everyone, positively everyone on the hotel's staff wore a genuine smile. Ray, one of the hotel's wonderful doormen, is a huge teddy bear of a man with a fabulous smile. He was a welcome sight as we returned from our adventures each day. And last but certainly not least, The Palace’s driver, Salah is a true gem. Not only did we enjoy the beautiful Maybach and Salah’s calm and adept driving as a welcome break in the chaotic NYC traffic, but his care of our family made us feel like royalty. Adil was also a wonderful driver and a lovely gentleman. The wonderful car service was a special treat for the birthday girls and our whole family.
It was a joy to celebrate our special birthday trip to NYC with Salah, Maurice, Nicola, Melissa, Paul, Ray, Adil, Raymond, Carlos and a host of other wonderful new friends at the Lotte New York Palace. The Palace certainly lived up to its fabulous name - our family felt royal indeed. We can't wait to return! XOXO Palace FriendsMore
