We stayed for 2 nights at the end of april 2021 (saturday and sunday). From the begining we knew the hotel’s customer target is not people over 30yo, but here were some details that, i think, is worth to comment in here... we booked the room because Moxy is a Marriott brand and we’ve never had a bad experience in a Marriott hotel (fairfield inn, residence inn, courtyard, etc). The hotel looks new and fully renovated. Bed is comfortable and shower is warm and with good water pressure. The room is tiny, but that was not an issue for us, as we know hotel rooms in nyc are small. The window was not sound proof, and the hotel has a rooftop bar open until midnight everyday so, if you are planning to sleep before midnight, good luck. Bathroom sliding doors didn’t close properly so, no intimacy between you and your partner. Tv was oddly installed, they decided to put it under the hooks to hang your clothes and bags (as no wardrobe in the room), so if you decide not to hang your clothes and bags, you can watch the tv... also you can touch the screen with your feet or kick it while sleeping (there is also a hanging frame at feet distance ready to get kicked or kneed). Aircon is right behind the head of the bed, so you’ll get that frozen breeze straight in your neck. Corridors and hotel lobby are ridiculously narrow and small for a 600 rooms hotel. The lobby has dim light with some neon lights and barely no natural light so it looks like a tacky pub. On the side walls there are 4 massive screens with non sense useless phrases instead of using them to show useful tourist information or enhance the somber lobby. There are a couple of machines to do your check in, but if it doesnt work (like for us) there are 2 “cinema ticket windows” where you can check in with an employee. This windows have speakers next to them playing background music for lobby and to avoid any type of conversation between you and the employee doing your checkin. Check in is from 4pm check out before 12. The employees don’t have specific uniforms or nametags, so, good luck trying to recognize them among the crowd on a saturday night. I need to highlight all the employees were nice and friendly with us but We wont step on a Moxy hotel again.
