This hotel was actually recommended by a local who attends the hotel for work events. I loved the location, we could walk to Rockefeller Center. A cab from Penn station is about $10 and (not within walking distance) but near by. I've never traveled alone and I felt comfortable walking the area alone.
The hotel was clean, I use a chlorox to wipe down stuff when I stay at hotels, nothing was on it after I wiped handles down. The view from the 11th floor was amazing, a bit noisy but it's NYC so I was fine with it.
Tip for breakfast, if you don't want to eat at the hotel, there's an amazing deli across the street on the corner. For a bagel and small black coffee was only $2. The guys are really friendly!
The rooftop bar has amazing views! But the music is like lobby music, slow and sleepy. We were yawning (11pm) and everyone in there was too. It's dark too so it doesn't help. I can see not having club music but something a bit more upbeat (maybe even some 80's?) would've kept us there longer ie- buying more drinks.More
