Great time. Great food experience. Really enjoyed cooking our own food and trying different items. We selected the rib eye steak, spicy pork, spicy shrimp, chicken breast, and lots of different veggies. The servers provided suggestions and "advice " on cooking techniques. Highly recommend for couples.

I'm surprisingly very pleased with this Korean barbecue restaurant! If you're not familiar with the Asian food scene in San Diego, Convoy or Kearny Mesa is the main hub for authentic Asian food. Great pho spots, Korean BBQ, ramen, all types of Chinese food, etc. So when we saw a Korean BBQ place next to Buffalo Wild Wings in Mission Valley, we were a little skeptical, but I'm so glad we decided to try it out.

It was a quiet Thursday evening, so it was pretty empty. We were seated and attended to right away. We really wanted to try their 'All you can eat' menu that ranged from $26-36, but it was getting late and I don't think I could've stomached that much food at 8:30pm. So we ended up ordering some spicy chicken bulgogi and beef bulgogi. It also came with an assortment of side dishes and some house salad. The quality of the food was delicious, fresh, and very flavorful. Since it wasn't busy, the lovely servers also helped us cook our food. We received such wonderful service, and we were definitely stuffed at the end of our meal.

It's a lovely restaurant and aesthetically pleasing. Modern. Industrial. Not your average Korean restaurant! It's super easy to find parking since there's not much around that area. We haven't been here during normal dinner hours or on the weekends, so I can't comment on that. But we will definitely come back for the all you can eat!

Attempting to eat here for lunch by myself, I sat at the bar and waited for anyone to pay attention. And waited, and waited, finally leaving after about 20 minutes without a word from anyone who worked in the restaurant. Other than myself, there was just one large party in the place.

The wait gave me a chance to review the menu and general condition of the space. As mentioned by the two earlier reviews, the improvements are minimal and warehouse like. Although there is a "Grand Opening" sign in front of the restaurant, a check on Google indicates it has been open since August 2016. It's obvious that someone has tried, unsuccessfully, to open a restaurant to compete with a successful spot in Convoy mentioned elsewhere - using very little capital and no management. I will be surprised if 356 Korean BBQ survives past the summer.

356 BBQ & Bar now offers a few AYCE options:

1) the 355 for $25.99
2) the 356 for $29.99
3) the 357 for $36.99

You can only order three items at a time.

The prices are further discounted Mon-Friday for lunch. For example, you can get the 355 for $21.99 during those days from 11:30a-3pm.

The banchan had salad, potato salad, seaweed, broccoli, jalapenos, shaved onions, fermented cabbage and cucumber. The lettuce salad was the best banchan.

We tried the 355 for $25.99 on a Saturday. Our favorite items were the steak and green tea porkbelly.

Service was slow and at times un attentive. It was fun to finally try out this Korean BBQ but they have strong competition in Convoy.

Definitely not the place for older customers looking for Korean ambiance and soft
music as in Convoy area. Warehouse atmosphere with large bar inside and an
outside patio looking at a walkway and bare store walls. Probably good for younger
mall shopping customers and bar crowd on warm evenings. Too noisy inside for us.
Bulgogi (grilled beef) was good, but chicken was just ok. Kimchee came in very
small portions, but they will refill them when asked. One must pay extra for rice and
tea !! Service was good and they do have "Sculpin" ale on draft !
