Very good american food and lots of different beers. The service is good and the price is fair. The firefighter burger is great!

I didn't have huge expectations since its basically pub food but it was even more disappointing. We were staying at the Hotel across the street and figured we could do quick take out - chicken fingers, salad and sandwich. nothing too elaborate. They got the order wrong and kept missing elements. So while our other food was getting cold we had to keep waiting for chicken fingers they forgot to make. They forgot the cheese on the salad, forgot the 2nd order of fries and we didn't even order it via phone. We were there in person ordering. If we don't check we would have been very upset in finding missing items. The front desk person was very nice and you could see he was trying - he even asked the manager to come over but it was a joke. All he said was sorry and the items will be right out. At other places they would offer something for the inconvenience but not here. Not that i was expecting anything but would have been a nice gesture. The food was mediocre at best. The chicken in the salad was rubbery and everything lacked taste. My husband had a stomach ache after eating the pulled pork sandwich. Everything lacked flavor and was bland. Even the carrot cake was dense and not what carrot cake should taste like. Needless to say not worth the money. So many other choices in Boston - don't waste your time with this dump.

Prime spot indeed - right next to Cutler Majestic, Shubert, Wang and Wilbur theaters, as well as Royale. Minutes away from a couple more venues. Restaurants in similarly advantageous spots are usually a disappointment, but Rock Bottom is a pleasant surprise. Both food and drinks are quite decent and well-priced, and specialty beers are downright cheap. The only downside is that it's hard to get a table before a show - try getting there by 6pm. And, if you are out of luck, you can often grab a spot at the bar.

My boyfriend and I were looking for a place to eat and drink before Bobby and Phil at the Wang on Wednesday. The Rock Bottom had been recommended by a friend of mine, so we tried to give it a shot. It was extremely dark and had a long wait to be seated. We found two tiny chairs at the bar and were given menus that reminded us of Applebee’s or some other chain diner. After not even being greeted for almost 10 minutes, we left and found a great spot to hang out in down the street.
