I enjoyed a wonderful lunch as a solo diner. The arctic char was superb, and the sides were excellent. The lobster bisque also was very good, and it was a treat to have brioche in the bread basket. My server was attentive and very pleasant. This was one of the best luncheon experiences I have had in a long time, and I really appreciated being treated so well as a solo diner.
A few nights ago we enjoyed a great meal at Atlantic Fish with friends. They offer an extensive menu with daily fresh fish specials and an extensive wine list. After having Calamari (grilled and fried) Milano and bacon wrapped scallops as appetizers we moved to Lobster fra diavolo (spicy, but not too hot), shrimp and scallop risotto (moist and tasty) and the Lamb rack and scallop special. We then shared a delicious dessert. During each course we enjoyed wines from their extensive wine list.
Our waiter clearly was a professional, offering knowledgeable suggestions and quality service. Note that the appetizers averaged $17 each, with entrees from $29 and up. When we return to Boston we will definitely consider returning to Atlantic Fish.
Never had it before, but our excellent waiter, Randy, said this fish eats crustaceans and tastes a bit like lobster. It was delicious--and the side dishes I chose were exceptional, a creamy corn pudding and julienned sugar snaps. All in a gracious but not pretentious setting.
With a little more attention to detail, this would be a truly first class restaurant.
Their atmosphere is very nice, and their service is professional and efficient.
Their food is very good, but would benefit from better execution (e.g., pappardelle with lobster and pesto was tasty, but noodles were stuck together).
They also need to better keep up with basic housekeeping (e.g., mens room trash was overflowing and pouring onto floor - obviously not serviced in hours).
