I was in San Francisco for a large conference -- finding a room was near impossible but was able to find this gem far below what other hotels were asking. The location was perfect.
Upon arrival, I was initially surprised by how "quaint" it was. I felt like I was checking in with a local family more than a hotel. They had paper tickets for check-in and actual keys! A far cry from some of the modern hotels that I typically stay in. I stayed in a Junior Suite and found it to be quite spacious and cozy. While the hotel isn't "updated", my bed was perfectly comfortable and I found all the amenities to meet my needs. My room didn't have air conditioning, but my room windows opened to a small corridor (i.e. no street noise) and on one of the warmer nights I found the fan in my closet to be more than adequate to maintain a comfortable temperature.
The staff was friendly, courteous and helpful. I also really appreciated the included wi-fi and delicious full breakfast (choice of eggs/bacon, french toast or omelets). To think that both of these would normally cost me another $50 a night!
My stay was a pure delight. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a home away from home.More
