Show was great and the food was good also! Our entire family had a great time. Story telling was impressive! Got the VIP package and would do it again.

The food was great. The desserts were okay. But the all inclusive drinks were a huge bonus for us parents! We were seated on the right side by the little grass hill which was great for the three year old to run around on. The show had a great story, very talented staff and costumes, but we were expecting a little more Disney pizzaz. The fire in the ending was great, but left us wishing for more. Nice to see Moana, but wish there was a meet and greet before hand. The pre activities were great for the kids, and the band was fabulous. It is one of the more expensive luaus, but it doesn't stand out in any department.

So glad we were able to attend this year! Last year it was rained out. Only guests of resort can attend (I think)...

The luau is great - wonderful storytelling and true to Hawaiian culture. I thought the costumes were nicer than some other luaus I've attended. Definitely had the Disney touch. Many many talented performances!! A+++

Pre show activities were good - Hawaiian stamping, tattoos, leis, bracelets. There were photos taken as well - separate from photopass.

Buffett was very good - main course and desserts were tasty. The kids buffet looked good too.

There were alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages - with refills - included in the VIP ticket.

Singing, dancing and storytelling all first rate. Really enjoyed KA WA'A.

In January, my family of 8, which included a six and four year old, attended the luau at the resort. Since we had the young girls, we decided to upgrade our experience to the Preferred Seating for an extra $40 per person. We arrived at the luau entrance at the assigned time, and we were informed that the luau would be delayed by an hour. Dealing with a 3 hour time change was bad enough, now we had to add another hour on to the night. We did not know what to do with ourselves as we were not staying a the Aulani. We ended up having $120 worth of drinks to kill the hour....$120 that we were not planning on since the Preferred Seating included an open, unlimited bar. One hour later we returned and by now the area was getting dark. All the little "stations" of activities were wasted as it was too dark to see anything since the outlying area was not lit very well.

Then we were escorted to our Preferred Seat. We could not believe that we were stuck at the very end of the lawn area by some bushes and could barely see the stage. Yes, it was in the first table area, but the angle was so bad the we could not believe we paid extra money for those seats. We found a manager and she moved us to general seating. The general seating table was 10 times better than the preferred seats. She offered us a refund of the preferred surcharge, and removed our unlimited drink bands.

By this time, an hour later than planned, we went to the buffet. We've been to four luaus before on various Hawaiian islands, and we could not believe the poor, unacceptable food quality. You cannot use the excuse that you are feeding masses of people. The other luaus, in particular the Old Lahaina Luau in Maui, feeds even more people and the food quality is night and day. We all ended up going to the children's buffet as that food was the most palatable.

When the show started, we were hoping for the best, but again we were so disappointed. My husband summed it up perfectly when he said that the show just did the minimum to get by. We could not believe when they announced the show was over. As I stated, we've been to four other luaus and this was the worse show of any of them.

I understand that Disney does not produce this show, however being held at the resort is an awful reflection of Disney. Disney should hire, and demand, the usual Disney quality that one expects for the money. We thought Disney would have high standards since most people would just assume that the show is Disney produced.

Between the hour long delay and the poor quality of the show and food, we will discourage others from attending via social media. We will describe it as the ultimate tourist rip-off. Too bad Disney's name is associated with it.

Having lived on Hawaii more then a decade or more ago, I worked at an activity sales office and thus was required to visit Luau's and other activities on the island. With that being said I've been to many and this was hands down the best! The food was great, the people were friendly, and the show was incredible. They catered to families, adults, couple, groups, etc. I would also highly recommend splurging to get the VIP seating and unlimited drinks. Very worth it in my opinion as you receive early access and if you're already paying so much you might as well get the upgrade!
