We were absolutely blown away by this experience while visiting Hawaii for 7 days. We were a family of 10 with differing opinions of fun and activities. This activity quenched all of our thirst for adventure! We departed in a storm and it was made clear that if the weather got worse we would not be able to go... which was kind of sad but once out in the storm we realized it was for our safety. The captain and his first mate were professional the whole way out and very skilled boatsman. We made it to the cage and had some unsuccessful latches due to the storm, but they were not going to give up easy. We finally attached to the cage and were able to get in. Wow!! It was such a thrill. Even though the water was super rough, most of us survived without getting sea sick. My daughter who is easily motion sick did get a little sea sick. She gets sick in car rides though - so we knew she was going to have an issue. The captain and first officer were very good when she did throw up and it was like “no problem”. We all had a great time, even my daughter, although she got sick. Our group ranged is from 5 to 68. My 5 year old didn’t get in but enjoyed the boat ride. My 7 year old loved it!! Great time. Do not think twice if considering this on your trip. Thank you Hawaii Shark Encounters.
