We actually rented the three bedroom house that they have available through VRBO. The location of both the house and the resort are fabulous!

The house is located just feet away from the water. The dining room table is located directly in front of large windows looking directly out on the water. Since we were practicing careful social distancing we ate all our meals at this table with its serene view and thoroughly enjoyed every moment. There is no dishwasher here though so all dishes had to be washed by hand. We were very appreciative that they had coffee and salt and pepper stocked for us.

The resort itself is located only steps away from Potawatomi State Park. This is an absolute state treasure. Even though we were there in December, we had a peaceful and restorative hike with our dog through the park.

There are definitely pros and cons about this place! They are a no-frills affordable option, an older hotel but there have been some updates.
Pros:
-It is right on the bay, you won’t be able to see it from the rooms but it’s just a hop skip and jump away!
-There is free use of kayaks and paddle boards, boat rentals, a small beach and more.
-The rooms are basic but clean, nice decor and the bathroom is nicely remodeled.
-The restaurant had a really good fish boil and other menu items was good also.
-It’s right next to Potawatomi State Park, close enough to walk to and get on a trail!
-They also take dogs which is something we needed
Cons:
-The beds were a bit hard, the mattresses either need replaced or at the very least some new mattress pads added.
-The property itself could use a little sprucing up, the outside of the building, the parking area, around the restaurant, cleaned up a little around the extra buildings around the property etc.
-This is a preference thing but I didn’t love the location, like I mentioned it’s really nice that it was next to Potawatomi State Park but I wish we would have stayed maybe more towards the middle of Door County like Egg Harbor Or Fish Creek, 90% of what we did in the 5 days that we were there were not spent in Sturgeon Bay. I knew some ideas of what we wanted to do but nothing really set in stone and discovered most everything that interested us was north of Sturgeon Bay but that may be different for others.

I but this is the place in the summer. So much do on your own beach. We stayed for 3 nights and don't really have any complaints. Michela at the front desk was super sweet and helpful. The hallways do smell a little but its an older motel. the room is clean and it is clear they are working on remodeling. The bathrooms are remodeled. We went back on forth about other places to stay but I am glad we choose Beach Harbor. Cant wait to visit in the summer!
