We chose to spend 4 days at the Bridgeport for a winter getaway with another couple and weren't disappointed. The location is excellent - a few blocks from downtown, across the street from the Maritime Museum, two blocks of interesting shops right outside the main entrance, and next door to Sonny's which serves excellent pizza.
Our room was at the end of a very long hall. It had two private balconies and a wonderful view of the bay and the shipyard. I only wish it had been warm enough to sit outside. The king beds were comfy, the fireplace was a great addition with temperatures hovering around 0 degrees, and the living room furniture was comfortable.
We cooked most of our meals at the resort and found we had to improvise when it came to kettles, lids, a large bowl, and kitchen towels. We also could have used a dishpan and a drainer since we weren't about to use the dishwasher for the few plates and glasses that were used each meal. To be fair, they do say guests can request other necessities from the main desk.
I would love to go back to experience summer at Bridgeport. It made for a wonderful home away from home.
