My daughters and I had some time to kill while my husband was in Milwaukee for Coast Guard business so we drove a few miles north to Port Washington. We toured the exploreum and had a great time. A very nicely taken care of building with neat interactive stations for kids of all ages.

Learn about the SS Atlanta...how she went down and what she looks like now in Port Washington's front yard. Well done exhibit including artifacts, stories of the rescuers and current views of the wreck. Excellent stop in picturesque Port.

Visited with my wife and two children. New exhibit just opened explaining the sinking of the SS Atlanta. Video of the ship wreck, story of its sinking, and many artifacts on display. Friendly girl at the front desk who went out of her way to answer all of our questions. Area in the lower level with interactive displays and games for the kids.

Special place with lots of photos, new technology displays, entertainment for kids. They did a fabulous job on remodeling this building while leaving the original brick walls. The ground floor has wonderful displays for the kids and the floor of one room looks like the deck of a boat. They have kid/family friendly movies with popcorn for the kids one night a week, you can even have kids birthday parties there. Wonderful place for the entire family. Lots of knowledgeable people on staff to help with displays and any questions.
